Everyone on that stage was a joke.

Everyone.

Trump was the only funny joke. I have no desire to vote for any of them.

Also, every right wing loon I've ever had to deal with has been a rabid Paul fan... That tells me all I need to know.

So who is your candidate? If there's no one running that you'd support who would be your hypothetical ideal candidate?

All of the right wing nuts that I see want to vote for Trump or one of the religious loons. My SO deals with just as many loons as you do, if not more, and he hasn't seen any Paul voters in that demographic.

I suspect that you don't like Paul because he isn't big government and your job relies on big government.

I'm referring to the militant prepper branch. Not the religious loons.

They just love his hatred of programs that keep them from posing an actual threat, like gun laws.

"When Rand Paul is president, you government cronies won't have jobs" is something I've heard in the last week. I guess he was just a confused Trump voter though....

The DOJ isn't going to be dissolved. Doesn't matter who is president. However, he and his idiotic ideas would be very dangerous to those working there and the general public.

The DEA would be severely cut though.

His ideas are no more dangerous than the rest of the warhawks in the Republican party.

He would also seek to ban it unilaterally, whatever happened to states' rights?

Paul opposes all forms of gun control as a violation of Second Amendment rights, including provisions of the Patriot Act.

That is, indeed, fricking crazy.

No, it's not. Drugs aren't my thing, but if someone wants to smoke some weed they should be able to do it. If they want to grow it for personal use, they should be able to do it. If they want to snort some nose candy, they should be able to do it. The government shouldn't be able to tell someone what they can and cannot put into their own bodies. And don't even get me started on civil forfeiture.

I have no idea how people look at him seriously at all -- against all forms of gun control. ALL forms. Not like one or two, he means everyone should be able to purchase and exchange a firearm on U.S. soil.

His dad was a lunatic and so is he, neither of them are pragmatic.

''Only conservative candidate with a chance.''

Gary Johnson is 1000% the man Rand Paul wishes he could be.

'''Johnson is a strong supporter of civil liberties and received the highest score of any candidate from the American Civil Liberties Union for supporting drug decriminalization and having a pro-choice stance on abortion, while opposing censorship and regulation of the Internet, the Patriot Act, enhanced airport screenings, and the indefinite detention of prisoners.[122] He has spoken in favor of the separation of church and state, and has said that he does not "seek the counsel of God" when determining his political agenda.[123] Johnson endorsed same-sex marriage in 2011;[124] he has since called for a constitutional amendment protecting equal marriage rights,[124] and criticized Obama's position on the issue as having "thrown this question back to the states."[125] Johnson has been a longtime advocate of legalizing marijuana and has said that if he were president, he would remove it from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act as well as issue an executive order pardoning non-violent marijuana offenders.[126] Johnson has stated his opposition to gun control and has said, "I'm a firm believer in the Second Amendment and so I would not have signed legislation banning assault weapons or automatic weapons."'

Apparently too liberal.

So, you're comfortable with the person across the hall doing PCP then? Which has a 90% chance of leading to violence?

You're also okay with shouldering the burden of health care and the other inevitable costs for when they go off the deep end?

You're backing an anti government, pro gun, anti abortion, and pro all the things rednecks love candidate. You realize that right? He's the spawn of Ted Nugent's wet dreams.

Dude, just leave it at: He favors no restrictions to purchasing firearms.

I'm ex-military, worked at a dealership and an avid fan of firearms and citizens having accessibility to them and even I think it's insane.

Hopefully there's a good guy with an M60 riding the angel dust there too to take him down. Problem. Solved.

His education policies are out there too. He advocates a policy that isn't even legal in the state he represents (charters). And specifically making comments like taking the "best teachers" and putting them on the "Internet to teach more kids" is pretty damn looney. He's a huge advocate of pushing for home school, which would be a great idea if majority of parents were capable of educating their kids.

On the contrary, I thought Fox news did a great job asking the questions. Yeah Trump got some dumb questions, but overall, what has he done policy wise. He turned his 2012 campaign into a giant promo about his show, so why should people take him seriously this election?

It blows my mind that people are actively supporting him.
