Not everybody grew up in some shite hole town where the public schools were war zones. Segregation academies aren't something to brag about having to attend. It means the area you are from is a steaming shitpile.

About 2:30 had to feed the chickens, slop the hogs, chop wood then catch the wagon.

You did grow up in a shithole area if you associate private schools with desegregation.

IMO a kid shouldn't spend more than say 25 mins on the bus. If kids are waiting for busses and sitting on them for long periods of time it takes away from time to do homework and such.

This is why you do your homework on the bus so that when you get home you can go build a fort or some other kid shite.

I didn't ride the bus to school until 6th grade, but rode one to my grandmother's house every afternoon up until then. Pretty sure it was never more than a 30-45 minute ride.

Once we moved into town and I had to start riding the bus in the mornings I think I got on around...7? Maybe? frick if I know. That was a long time ago.

I know in the more rural areas kids had to jump on the bus at like 5 in the morning. That's just fricking nuts. Think of that bus driver's daily schedule.

I really don't remember what time, but did have to walk 1/2 down a gravel road to the highway to catch the bus.
My two sons only had to walk about 50 yards down the driveway to catch the bus at 6:45 for an 8:00 first bell.

I never rode the bus. Father had a job that allowed him to drop us off and mother didn't work.

Seemed to me all people did on the bus was fight.

Rode the bus through half of 2d grade; then private school.

My children go to public school & ride the bus, which picks up about 0700.

Used to take them, but they like to ride the bus.

Going to shitty public school and being miserable 10 months out of the year from ages 5 to 18 has made the rest of life better sheerly by comparison.

Thank you, grammar police; autocorrect on an iPhone, plus old eyes of a Retired Veteran.

I went mostly to private school, up until college.

UM is a Public School.
