I bet the average resident of Ferguson doesn't support the protests and the crime.

A large number of the protestors don't live in Ferguson. It's not convenient for the simplistic narratives which are carried on here, though, so let's bomb them all. Right?

You have to be aggressive. Those people shoot cops for no reason.

Well, you need to know when to be aggressive and when to dial the situation down.

Those officers wouldn't quit. Maybe a few would leave, but many would stay and do their jobs.

Why? What job is left to do? How can they effectively uphold any semblance of law & order? They're not making any difference, and many people there, whether from surrounding areas or homegrown, have zero respect for them & would rather see them dead than on the job. Local law enforcement has no real control, and it appears as though things are only going to escalate. Why not have them relocate somewhere that they can be effective, and just let this place go, or leave it to the Feds?

Understandably, there are no doubt some decent citizens left there, but honestly, what the hell is or ever could be left for them??? Businesses? Pretty safe to say, negative. So, as sad as it is for citizens who have been productive members of that community & tried to make it a decent place, it's time for them to relocate somewhere their efforts would be appreciated. I'd even back a plan giving them financial aid to "buy" their homes & businesses from them, relocate, & re-open them, if that's what they chose.

It's a mindset.

You can't make any impact if you quit.

Trust me, no cop is a cop in Ferguson by choice. It's because they can't get a job with the County, in Chesterfield or Sunset Hills. So it's not just so easy for a majority of them to relocate.

Of the ones there, they aren't going to up and leave. There are what? Maybe 200 bad actors, leaving 20,911 people to serve and protect. I would like to think that even the cops in Ferguson aren't going to let such a small percentage of the population run them off.

Not to minimize the shooting of cops or anyone, but the problems up there are overblown because that's all they show. But that's such a small concentration of people in a small concentration of area that it doesn't accurately reflect the rest of the area.

My mom is a white lady in her mid 70's. She thoroughly enjoys her trips up there every other week for bridge and bingo because it's not all what you see on TV.
