I was just saying I'm glad y'all are feeling good. That's all that matters.

You jest, but I agree.
One day you will wake up and realize that traditional forms of social control aren't all bad things just because you don't need them.

I could make your head spin so easily it's not even funny. Apologetics has already answered far tougher questions than your minor "gotchyas" for centuries. There are much more controversial passages in the bible which would shake a person's Faith who doesn't know much about the book.
You just aren't worth the time or effort. Because I know what you will do. You are the very definition of an angry athiest.
Though I may start diving in soon just to give answers to someone who is truly questioning.

I'd have to say Samson and Delilah, because I can relate. Here's a story of a man at the top of his game that let lust for a pretty woman bring him to his knees. Even though he knew she was trying to betray him, he kept playing with fire until it finally got him. Whether you believe the Bible or not, it is full of human tendencies and warnings that can help keep you from a path of destruction.

I'm talking to first grade Christians here. I was an apologist during seminary, make my head spin, or don't since I don't care about apologetics anymore. Do you think I can discuss thoughts of Oswald Chambers' journals with first graders and them care enough to respond? I'm feeding small fish, you large mouth bass. what I talk about needs to be able to apply to them in quick bite sized pieces. They're young and need nurturing.

I've been a Christian and been eating meat for a long time, partner. You like to brag about how long you were a Christian, but it sounds like you stayed a spiritual baby and like the Bible says, it sounds like you suckled on milk for so long and never graduated to meat and really understanding the deeper concepts in God's word. You got sick of milk, but instead of diving deeper and growing, you turned bitter. Tell me I'm wrong with a straight conscience.

Seems like more of an 'apostate' to me - which is far worse

Stacked doesn't really do non-belief justice.
As far as my favorite Bible story, it's probably Sampson and Delilah. Whether it is true or not is irrelevant, it teaches us a universal truth: Bitches be triflin'

Not even to mention EVERY species of animal repopulating from just two individuals.

My favorite "story" is where this innocent man is murdered and gives his perfect body as a substitute for the sin of all people who choose.
Still don't understand how this is supposed to be some big sacrifice.
He didn't die (death is more than a weekend), didn't even give up His body (ascended into heaven with it), God didn't lose His son (still supposedly in heaven with Him) and the whole ordeal only lasted 3 days (people have been punished more for stealing a pack of cigarettes).
What was sacrificed? How does this empty gesture of pretending to let them kill Him and then almost immediately being resurrected and returning "home" alive after what amounts to three days in solitary come anywhere close to "substituting" for all the sins of all mankind?

Paul, outside of Jesus himself, was the greatest Christian philosopher the world's ever known
Paul may just be the worst Christian the world has ever known.

He marched into Greece and had the world's most renowned philosophers confounded to the point where they couldn't deny that he was right in what he preached
Of course they were confounded when this idiot started spouting nonsense. It was equivalent to Johnny Cochran's Chewbacca defense on South Park.
quote:
got mad at Paul and tried to kill him for proving them wrong...
He didn't "prove" anything. No one can prove anything about this shite. And getting mad and trying to kill him is a very normal and understandable response by any normal human subjected to the crazed ravings of that a-hole lunatic.

guy who God chose to use as his mouthpiece
According to whom? The guy in question? A lot of crazy, sadistic assholes claim to have been chosen by God to be his mouthpiece.
quote:
Paul was far from a "jerk"
True. He would have needed to be about a billion times better than he was to be merely a "jerk".
quote:
He said that of all sinners, he was chief.
Yet he preached death to the all the others, but not himself. Unspeakable a-hole, AND a hypocrite. He embodied (and today inspires) the absolute worst in self-proclaimed Christians. It's hard to imagine how any "Christian" could be worse.

favorite story from the Bible?
I like the one where the two childish and sadistic assholes get together and torture one's pet throughout its lifetime just to settle a disagreement they had over how it would react. And to top it off, the one who owned the pet already knew how it would react and decided to let it be tortured anyway just to prove a point to the other one.
The pet's name was Job.
