I would say that President Obama is culturally white, although I see race a bit differently than most people.

I have never once thought or said..."wow, I'm proud to be a white person!" I'm proud to be a relatively good person, educated, employed, kind and honest. I'm Irish, English, Scottish, Dutch and German, however, while that is interesting as far as my cultural heritage, I am most proud to be an American--and have been my whole life.

I actually agree with your overall sentiment that we should, as a people, stop hanging so tightly to skin color as "race". Skin color is just melatonin. Genetically, you're still a fricking human being.
