Absolutely true.
Bill Clinton had been governor of Arkansas 12 of 14 years from January 1979 to January 1993. He was the longest serving governor in Arkansas' history. His political tentacles ran extremely deep in that state. When Huckabee won that race in 1996, he was still fighting the Clinton machine. They hated him and they still do.
