All I remember from my Sunday school class is that space time is in the shape of a giant tree or something, and their are 9 worlds it connects to.

Certainly did. That's why I thanked you for posting those short stories in this thread. They fit perfectly.

They're some of my favorites by Asimov. He is my favorite Sci-Fi author. I've read everything he has ever published.

It discusses the death of the universe in a philosophical way. It is unique subject matter and I think elegant in its conclusion.
