No. But there is a lot at play here. Russia's alliance with Iran and Syria is a major concern. The main thing the former USSR lacked was a warm water port. Iraq sits between Syria and Iran, and we've left a mess there. Russia gaining such a strong presence in that area is a huge concern for us, because they obviously aren't an ally of ours.

I don't want to see us back on the ground over there, no way. If air strikes would keep that from happening, I might support it, but they won't. If we get it at all, we'll be in all the way.

No. BTW, being a history nut, no Pub President not named Bush ever got us into a foreign war.

I'd love for us to one day mind our own GD business (and this is from some one who isn't a full-blown libertarian/conservative, either.

this country was founded on the ideal of isolationism and we got away from that about halfway through the history of this fine country...I doubt we ever see the day where the fundamental principles of this country are held to a standard like what the constitution and all other founding legal documents where intended to instruct

granted we have been forced to show our hand and wars with other countries are inevitable when you have religion coming into play. Its so ironic that these religions all have merciful gods but even in the Christian religion our god has had Christians slaughter ppl of different races and beliefs.

its really a funny idea

Is this question about the chemical bombs already launched by US backed rebel forces or future bombings coming directly from US military?

I think its the question of the chemical bombs already launched but my last reply was based on a broader soapbox statement.

Wow, it's just that simple right? After the take down of Assad than I'm sure there's no way the vacuum would be filled by the Al Qaeda saturated rebels, right? Do you people even ask questions anymore?

You need to take a look at Egypt right now. People like you are the reason we've been doing what we've been doing. "Urrr the Pres says those are bad guys, so lets go kick some bad guys arse!!!!" USA USA!

Good lord, you're part of the problem. Simple-minded , and apathetic.

Do you even know who the rebels are??? Look, right now Syria is directly/indirectly fighting Al Qaeda.

It's all a moot point because it's not OUR business!!!! Let the other regional powers handle THEIR business, even France for all I care.

Would it just be too much to ask for us to sit this one out? We've been at war for what? 10+ years? When is this shite going to end?

You can't just completely change the OP and the direction of your thread.
