As a bama fan I am supposed to hate Tennessee/Auburn/lsu

Over the past few years I have softened my hate for Tennessee. Kinda want them to get good so that the East is not such a shite show. But it also helps that I don't see many Tennessee fans in Houston/Texas and I don't have much negative interaction with them. So I don't go all in on hating Tennessee. Would not mind my kid going to Tennessee

Lsu has a pretty big presence in Houston and I have slot of friends that are lsu alums. I'll admit that I really enjoy lsu fans. Most are very fun and hospitable. My favorite game to attend is lsu in Death Valley and always have a great time. No hate from me. Would not mind my kid going to Lsu

Auburn is another story. Unlike Tennessee I see a good bit of auburn fans in Houston. Auburn has a decent engineering program and Houston is of course o and g. People talk about bama fans being obsessed with football and on average that is probably right. But auburn fans are obsessed with being better than bama in everything, and they want all outsiders to believe that. They usually go after the academics debate. They will literally make shite up about Bama just to make them look good. they are full of shite. If the football team is good then their rhetoric picks up. I have met some pretty obnoxious auburn fans here in Houston. That being said I am not a dickhead and I would not mind my kid wanting to go to auburn, but you better believe I will make sure they are aware of the true relation they have with bama.

I legitimately hate UT Austin, their fanbase, and the culture surrounding that institution.

I will pay for my kid to go to Texas, it's a great school. They will have to learn to deal with dad talking shite and calling them every time they lose though

I hate Texas. I think less of a person if I find out they are a UT alum or fan.

I dislike LSU and A&M, but there are things I respect and admire about their program/fans/traditions. I can't say the same for the whorns.

If they are anything like the Texas Exes in my family the response will be "They played a game today?"

This is pretty much me. I just wouldn't understand why my kids would go to Texas, other than us living in Austin or to rebel against Mom and Dad (and Grandad). We have had season tix to Aggie games their entire lives.

It would make me die a little but I would support my kids. Never going to wear orange or do a "hook 'em" though and will never root for or support Texas as an athletic endeavor in any way.

I used to hate Clemson..I've grown up though and have a lot of friends that went to Clemson. Also makes it easier to not actually hate your rival when your own team is a steaming pile of dog shite.

Most would say Pitt is Penn State's biggest rival but we haven't played in about 20 years. I wouldn't mind my kids going there- it's a good school. I'd rather them be at PSU or across the street at CMU, but I'm not going to block them. I might block them from going to school in Philly (other than Penn), but that's just for general safety reasons.

I don't like Georgia at all. The people are annoying but I'm not going to waste my time worrying about them. I just can't take FSU seriously for some reason

i don't hate any school sans maybe USCw. Baylor, Texas, and Tech are filled with people that i get along with and we'd all like each other if we had gone to different schools. Sunday mornings at church is a melting pot for me of OU, Bama, Auburn, LSU, UTEP, Tech, A&M, Baylor, Kansas State, and UH grads. i love it. we dig on each other every sunday.

as far as where my kids go, absolutely not as long as it makes sense.

i.e. my kid wants to go to Baylor. Cool What do you want to study bud? fine arts and women's studies? no i will not spend 200k+ on an education that you could get at UofHouston, Sam Houston, Tarleton or Angelo State for 1/5 the cost. you may go there to study theology or something they're known for. You want to go to Texas? Wish you had chose A&M but that's great. It's a good school. What are you studying? Education? No i'm not paying for a school that has average passing rate on teacher certificates as opposed to DII for 2x the costs. Engineering, Law, Computer Science, etc? Sure. i'd probably give them a pass on A&M regardless of the situation.

If they get a scholarship, than the world is their oyster as long as they keep the scholarship and don't major in partying.

No kids but it'd be hard for me to imagine not supporting their decision shool wise. If I had a son I might be disappointed if he went to Texas A&M cause I'd want grandchildren one day. Maybe Tulane, frick those Yankees

I don't think you should hate anyone you don't know. Some people take themselves way too seriously.

I definitely don't like the culture at Texas, but I don't like the frat culture of some SEC schools either. I just don't hate it.
