Not in the slightest. A full-scale invasion of the main island would have been way too costly. The bomb easily saved thousands of American lives, no question.

Think about all the great cinema D-Day gave us, a Japanese invasion would have been ten times bigger. How many epic, Saving Private Ryan type films have been made about the bombings?
