Obama and his agenda have been one giant wrecking ball to the Democratic Party. And nearly all of their leaders are unlikely to even be involved in politics 8 years from now.

Harry Reid- retiring Senate Leader is 77 years old
Chuck Shumer- new Senate leader is 66 years old
Nancy Pelosi- House leader is 76 years old
Dick Durban- Minority Whip is 72 years old
Patty Murray- Secretary of Dem Caucus is 66 years old
Joe Biden- Outgoing VP is 74 years old
John Kerry- Outgoing Sec of State is 73 years old
Bernie Sanders- 2nd place in primaries is 75 years old
Elizabeth Warren- de facto leader of the far left is 67 years old

The only member of their Senate leadership who is not 66 years old or older is Jon Tester, Chairman of the Senatorial Campaign Committee. He's 60. He's also from conservative Montana and could very well be ousted in the midterms in 2018. He's also far too moderate to ever move up any further in the Dem ranks.

Their bullpen is literally depleted. They are too old and too white as they like to point at their GOP counterparts who are actually quite the opposite.

Elizabeth Warren is the only person on the list above who could ever have a shot to run for president in the coming years. She'll be 71 in 2020 and 75 by 2024.... and her biggest problem is that she's a New England liberal. Whenever the Dems nominate a New England liberal, they always lose big.

I honestly cannot remember the last time one of the two parties was this depleted.

They need to stop considering most of America as flyover country. Might help their image.

Republican party was in shambles in 2008.

The Libs controlled the WH, House and Senate.

Conservatives really didn't have much in terms of prospects.

You get it. The Bernie Sanders campaign was a harbinger of the future for the Democratic Party. Socialism is on the near horizon.

The swings from right to left and back again are getting more extreme. Even the Republicans' win this time is with a candidate whose rhetoric was downright "horrifying." Let's all hope it was just rhetoric in the heat of the moment but it's something new and extreme.

We all know there will be another swing to the left. The Republicans will get over-confidant and will become complacent just as the Democrats did this election.

As a moderate, it's like Edgar Allan Poe's The Pit and the Pendulum. Torture.

This is true, and will probably be true for the immediate future.

This was said of the republican party after the last presidential election.

George W. Bust was still the worst president in my 37+ years, the stupid bastard and the spineless, bald pussy VP(5 war deferments) Cheney made me hate the republican party because of the Iraq lie.

The fact that the Bush family voted for Hillary tells you all you need to know about Washington DC.

They voted that way because Trump said Bush was behind 9/11.

They voted against Trump because he's not part of the DC Elite.

This. America will become Detroit (aka Detoilet), while the bait and switch "socialist" politicians rake in all the additional cash. Businesses will flee (because taxing them at 90% while simultaneously forcing them to pay their toilet scrubbers the same amount their IT guys are making is truly a brilliant method to stimulate the economy), the rich will flee while the ones who remain will hide every penny they earn in offshore accounts. Those who earn a halfway decent income shouldn't be punished because half of the millidiot generation who went to college majored in fricking old english or "art" while the rest never left home after high school.

I seriously considered fleeing this future shithole when Bernie was the hot commodity. The "American Dream" is one socialist politician away from becoming a nightmare.

Every 8 years or so the country tires of the party in power and makes a change.

Both parties are riddled with a mix of people who are either too old or too looney.

I bet more private citizens get into politics as a result. Dont be surprised if a Mark Cuban or Zuckerberg slides into politics in the future.
