Used to be able to do all my own maintenance with my old '87 chevy pickup. Drive a kraut car now, can't even find the filter. Meh, I'll pay someone.

I worked for Jiffy Lube in high school and part of college and at the Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express for the rest of college. I've changed more oil than anyone on this board ever will. Problem is, the lube shops buy their oil and filters in such bulk that they get it cheap enough to sell parts AND labor as cheap as a single person can get their oil and filter at the auto parts store. Why go to the auto parts store, get dirty, then go BACK to the auto parts store to drop off my used oil when I can be in and out of Jiffy Lube in 15 minutes for the same price as doing it myself?

Also it costs $20 to change your oil on your own. Plus you get dirty and get to fill your ladys fluids. Plus you know you're doing it right.

The thing is about me and most normal people is I am not sexually attracted to my car. If you like fingering it and getting its body fluids and musk all over you, that's fine, but don't be an insecure a-hole about it when people would rather pay an extra 20 bucks to avoid smelling like you just fricked a golf cart.
