That's pretty loaded but I think you're right. I wonder why poverty is so prevalent in certain places as opposed to other places.

In smaller towns, when factories shut down, it's a huge blow to the economy. That's what happened to my hometown. 3 factories shut down in a short timeframe, causing the loss of a ton of jobs. When nothing else comes in to replace them, you have a bunch of blue collar workers without the education to find something else.

I think it's less racism and more being tired of piece of shite people running down our communities because they are lazy pieces of shite. If the majority of these piece of shite people are of the same race, that's a statistic.

Racism is when you are prejudice on the basis of race and race alone. You and your bleeding heart should stop trying to redefine it.

I don't know him. I just hate when people claim racism when that's not what it is.

i'm sincerely hurt that by now you don't know my stances.

and that statement touched my heart like none other.

realistically, it has jack to do with race. the problem with trying to define the problem in the OP in today's age is, when we call a spade a spade, it's now racist.

there is racism today and it sucks dog balls. Sterling can go choke on a goat nugget. We can't do anything about that, other than hope those people take a dirt nap soon.

the problem has nothing to do with race and everything to do with culture, but we can't say that.

If i make the statement that the breakdown of the urban family and its values leads to a lot of the problems, it's racist because i'm decrying black culture, but it's not true. TBird comes from an urban town and from all appearances, he's a fine man that i'd like to buy a beer for if our paths ever cross when he's in SA. Same for Black Helicopter Pilot. Carolina Tide and I tend not to agree on a lot, but he seems like a good guy.

Their race has jack crap to do with my opinion of them, but it's obvious they were raised by families that valued something different than what is put out by a large majority of urban culture. Just by pointing that out i can be labeled as a racist.

so until we get to a point where we can't just let facts and statistics stand on their own whether somebody is black, hispanic, white, or asian, we're not going to get too far in assessing, nonetheless fixing the problem.

The town was built for railroad employees, and even though there is still a depot there, there's not much else. It's depressing to go back there. Oh, and it's 98% white.

Been to a lot of towns like this in Texas. I worked for a railroad contract company so would go from small town to town doing work. A lot of these towns are mostly white, poor, and just getting by. I don't know what to say other than towns use to have a lot of businesses that support the greater farming communities and now that just isn't the case. The OP is obviously a bigot and looking for a different card to play.

while i disagree with your opinion of the OP, i'm curious to know what small towns in TX. i'm from a small town and i agree, a lot of them are drying up.

i think (in TX at least) it's that a lot of businesses that supported the towns went up and there was a flight out of there.

and unless the kids want to go back and farm under their parents, there's no appeal to be back in their hometown. my wife is from a very small town and when we go back she wants to see her parents and nothing else there. i'd honestly love to have enough money some day to retire and go to work on her dad's farm because i like the way of life, but i don't know if i could drag her back.

It's this. The common denominator isn't a race. You find no higher percentage of a certain race in these areas vs anywhere else, do you? Maybe in Mississippi which is just poor as frick anyway.
