But when you're trying to get your TV working or wondering why your internet is out, you get transfered to 'Bob' in New Delhi whose goal is to ask "ahr yu shurr yur dehbais is conektid tu dee wahll?" over and over again until you hang up in anger. But I will concede, their service rarely goes out, but when it does...

Doubtful.

I once had them scheduled to come out to set up on my old house. I had a disagreement with the tech guy when he called saying he was on his way. He never showed and called it in saying he did and I refused services

Yea just moved in and they made up some excuse why my internet wasnt working. Said it would be 2 days until some guy did something to it. 2 days later the online button is still not on. I call and they tell me to switch it to another cable jack. I do and it works. They had been charging for the 2 days even though the first time i called they said they werent yet. On top of that they had moved me up to a more expensive package then the one they had sold me on. The indian sounding guy argued with me for 3 minutes and kept trying to sign me up for some sort of extra cable packaging claiming they didnt have that cheaper package. Finally he conceding when i wouldnt budge and miraculously found the package in his system that i originally signed up. Bunch of scam artists.

Cox sucks as well.

They mandated a switch to a "mini-box".

Nothing but pixelation.

They sent out a technician, he said we have to correct this, because if we don't, if you call back within 30 days, we don't get paid.

I worked in a union shop, sometimes they have a point. Sometimes exploitation is not the best tactic.

Cox is private, I would sell them short if they were listed.

That is why I use ATT u verse. The speeds suck compared to cable, but they cap overages at $20.

Oh yeah, I've moved twice and they promised free installation and they continued to try and bill me for the next three months.

Hopefully the rent a box scam will be coming to an end. Just this past Thursday the FCC had a meeting about opening up the box. It was voted 3 to 2 to go ahead with further discussion, and in my opinion, the cable co's will lose. Basically, we will all still be paying to the fricking monopolies (KomKast), but the boxes should become open.

Not to make this political but I will make it political - 2 fricking repugs sided with the cable companies when 2 dems and the FCC president (Wheeler) told the cable co's to go frick themselves. Think about that next time you vote.
