I hope these tests of data caps fail.

They say I used 57GB last month.
This month...I'm at 273GB with 12 days to go.

My internet usage has been about the same. This is just another way to try and screw me.

F U Comcast

I've read the horror stories but I have neber personally had any problems with them. Their customer service has always been helpful and rarely have any loss of cable or internet service. Guess I'm one of the few lucky ones

Look up "Comcast data caps" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

They're only doing it in certain areas right now but I have a feeling this will be their new model. Because Comcast doesn't give a shite that everybody hates it and I think this is there way to get people to quit ditching cable and moving to Netflix.

I was wondering how to look at my data usage. I am a truck driver and my wife is staying at her mom's because she had surgery. So I was wondering if they rigged the numbers as suggested in the OP. obviously it should be extremely low seeing as no one has been home.

It's supposed to be on your account but I have to google "Comcast data usage meter to find it".

They might not do it for those not in the test areas though. If you're in MS, I don't think that's in a test area but I'd be interested if you do try it.

I'm not saying it's rigged necessarily but this is the second month they've tracked it for me and the numbers already seem fishy.

There's also articles I've seen where Comcast was tracking data to the wrong people and they had to go back and fix it. Comcast claims they're 96.4% accurate.

I read them the riot act about it when I found out. Worked my way up through the chain till I got someone with a pulse.

Then I told them "I want you to submit a customer complaint escalation in my name. I signed on to your service and this did not exist, now you've changed to a service I did not purchase. As such I'm not obligated to pay it until such time as sufficient notification has been delivered giving me time to switch to a different provider....which I will most certainly be doing"

Had them confirm it, and I didn't pay my bill this month. In a month my new house will be done, and they can kiss my arse.

Yeah I know

Especially when it's something you base billing off of. Hopefully it's just a complete disaster and they dump it

I second this.

Comcast hasn't implemented a data cap in Texas, but the feeling is that they will soon. They say they started data caps as trial to see how customers like them (which is BS because we don't from the get-go) and then they'll just expand and keep them with a BS excuse that it helps manage the network and bring down customer costs (which it doesn't). It just helps them get charge fees.

Don't get me started on their rent-a-TVBox scam. Why can't they just let me buy my own box instead of paying $10 a month???
