Doesnt really matter what percentage of the current budget it is. Its 30 million they didnt have last year, and they didnt have to spend any money to cultivate.

Sure it matters. It's not some huge boon for education. Pretending it is makes you look silly. It won't make a half of a percent of difference in funding for education once it's all said and done. And yet it's being marketed as some huge windfall of educational revenue.

They invested zero dollars and got 30M. Stop trying to spin this because you started talking out of your arse before reading.

Lol.

Why don't you bookmark this thread, compare the education budget of Colorado from FY2013-14 to FY2014-15 and then we can all calculate the ROI together (at least roughly)?

The baseline will be $5.5B in current funding. See ya in a year!

There are plenty of stoners that you would never know smoked if you didn't know them personally. Productive members of society. Lawyers, professors, doctors, etc...

But sure, we should put them all in camps.

It's not that hard to follow. This pot money is being sold as some huge boon to Colorado's education system. It won't be.

Selling the idea of recreational pot should be about the merits of the idea. The revenue to education isn't a good argument.

This happened many moons ago with the lottery. The lottery was going to save education. It hasn't. Pitching sin taxes as a reason to legalize the activity is a useful argument for gaining votes and really doesn't change much.

Especially fat camps.

So the proponents of recreational pot shouldn't be falsely portraying it as some huge windfall. Do we need a connect the dots picture for you?

Congratulations to Colorado on that 0.3% increase in tax revenue.

Do you disagree with legalization?
