BHP got it made on the fark board. I suggested the unmasking and Bigsby. Was hoping to have also had a drop down at the curtain with WHITE POWER on it, but that part wasn't done.

original farkboard thread

Eh, it's all in the eye of the beholder (if you'll forgive my woefully mixed metaphor). Matter of opinion at the end of the day. They're both just words. How people choose to react to them is what alters their weight, not any inherent evil.

This.

this. It gets me sometimes how people think there's no way people can be racists against whites now a days. But in response to the OP the "N word" is worse than the "C word" IMO. I have black friends that call me a damn cracka all the time just playing around, so that doesn't bother me at all. I don't see anyway possible someone can be offended by someone calling them a cracker, it's just stupid shite. It's all stupid shite

This. How many white people here would actually feel offended if someone called you a cracker? Most would be like "what the frick?!?" really all racist "slurs" against white people are more funny then hurtful.

Yeah I don't get it, I know what it means but it still doesn't offend me. I can see how a black person can be offended by someone calling them the N word though.

Perhaps that tells you something then.

Agreed, although in a situation such as this Zimmermen trial trayvon called him a "creepy arse cracka" that Witness in the trial said she does not think that is a "racial statement" I don't see how in the hell it isn't a racial statement.

I'm not offended by it but it certainly is a racial statement

It's about as racial as a black comedian doing nerdy white voice. Trayvon was what, 16? Did he have some deep seeded resentment towards the creepy pale LARPers always frontin his game? I don't think it was racial at all, it was a nonsensical comment that was probably said for no more reason that alliteration flows off the tongue.

I didn't mean that Trayvon meant it as a racial slur, just that he felt the need to identify the guy as a white guy which is by definition a "racial" statement but it's not a "racist" statement

Do you think he would have said "cracker" if Zimmermen were black? Of course not, thus making it a racial statement, again does not mean the same thing as racist

Why does the "n" word turn to n*****
I'm more interested into why African Americans get so butthurt when the word is used. I get that it was used during the days of slavery and blah, blah, blah - but they themselves use the "n" word all the time when talking to each other. Why is it OK for them to do that? Anyways, I only use the "n" word when referring to any one, lazy, piece of shite individual. That applies to individuals in all races, none specifically.

I guess that's just how I was raised, though. All of my black friends always stayed at my house after practices and games, and my dad used to buy them cleats, pads, baseball gear, and even spent the money due to play little league. We even went to the projects to pick them up and drop them off if they didn't have a ride. I've always been able to see past the color of someone's skin.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, FWIW.

So if a white person was being followed by a nerdy looking black person and said "Im being followed by a nerdy arse n word", It wouldn't be a racial comment, it would probably just be because it flows off the tongue?

Well if you're distinguishing between racial and racist, I see your point.

If you throw that hard of an "r" to make it flow with nerdy? You damn straight, son.
