Yep I'm sure the BBB has already found Serra doing this before but the more ammo the better. This is a terribly unethical way of doing business. Absolutely pathetic

Serra has some pretty terrible reviews on cars.com. I've long heard they're the shadiest car dealer in town, at least dealers of brand new cars. The worst dealer I ever dealt with was Highline Imports. I felt like I needed a shower after visiting that place.

For each instance they fraudulently pulled your credit they could be fined up to $10k and you could get $1g easily.

You can get them suspended from being able to pull credit and essentially shut down their finance department. You need to be able to prove that they pulled it after you had declined their offer and left the store. If so, hire an attorney and profit.

Not sure if serious. Hire an attorney to get 1 or 2 thousand?

Probably every single car dealer in America has something shady about them, some obviously more than others. I worked at one briefly while between jobs and hated every minute of it. No one is honest. The guys I worked with were mostly nice guys but even they would always say "If you can't make money off your friends and family, then who can you make it off of?"

Get one thing straight: No dealer is going give you retail for your trade. My time at the dealership was back in 07-08 when gas prices jumped up and car sales plummeted and even then I never saw our dealership lose on a deal, or really even come close and they were desperate to sell cars.

thats the thing he took the written offer to "go type up the paperwork" and brought back an exact copy with only the sales price modified with the incorrect sales contract and passed it off hoping I wouldnt notice. it was just shady as hell and pissed me off. no way in hell I'd buy anything from the scum.

So you would want to do business with these folks

Get out while you can

luckily for me my score was high enough that I could spare nearly 50 points & still qualify as a preferred customer.

Not sure why your score behaved differently than mine and my wife's. We were looking at buying a Nissan, got credit approved at two different dealers. Made a last minute about face and bought a 1yo used Mazda from a Chevy dealer. Dealership which was a 2+ hour drive away so we got our loan from the Credit union and had a check in hand before we made the drive, but let the dealership shop around and try to beat the credit unions rate. So we had 4 different places run our credit in a 7 day span, score came back the exact same from all 4 places. My credit is good and while my wife's is considered excellent.
