Certainly.

The EPA is a pain in the arse and has the power of the government to back them up, but a new administration means a less intrusive EPA. Exxon (Koch, Shell, Halliburton, et. All) can pay for that.

It's most unfortunate that the topic of global warming has completely shadowed over concerns for the environment.

Pollution, deforestation and overpopulation have faded into the background as global warming has become a political movement. Leftists and right wingers care more about jousting than they do about exploring the effects of human societies on the earth.

We are, in effect, shitting where we eat. The earth is finite and our abuse of it can only have a limited run.

So far, that makes like 4 billion who agree, and the other 3 billion are throwing poop at each other.

It's official, Global warming is complete and utter bullshite.

It isnt a hoax, the world is definitely getting warmer. The question is whether or not we are the primary force driving it and, if so, is there anything we can realistically do about it.

I'm no climatologist But it seems there is some warming going on. The earth has natural fluctuations but human development is at the least exacerbating the changes. The only way I see humans continuing long term is to think our way out and colonize other planets. If we don't do this fairly soon I see a lot of species dying out. There is just too much growth even if the environment stays exactly the same. You can't keep a dirt poor person from cutting down a patch of rainforest and starting a farm to feed their family.

How refreshing. Someone who actually gets it.

Since population growth can't be enforced without calamity, one idea is to legitimize homosexuality worldwide.

Homosexuality as an evolutionary adaptation similar to viral remission? Very interesting and could probably get a NSF grant.

That would have only a small effect. While gay men would not feel the current pressure to marry women and reproduce with them, they still want to be parents. Gay women do, too. Liberated gays and lesbians tend to share sperm and ova to get the children they want.

Homosex was a valuable evolutionary trait. Imagine you have a tribe. Three couples with five children each. That's a shite ton of work for the Mothers in that tribe, they can't take care of all the kids and a ton of them die.

Now imagine that one of the Mothers carries the gay gene and gives birth to a gay son. Now instead of that guy getting with a girl and pumping out more babies for the women to watch and get killed this guy now chooses to not mate to watch the children and help out with the tribe stuff, the more butch ones might even hunt. That gay caveman is now a huge evolutionary asset. His presence aids the tribe, they prosper and more children live, children who also carry that mother's gay gene...the chance (albeit a small one) that offspring may be gay.

That's essentially what happened all across the world.

No amount of googling returned anything that clarified your statement. Would you mind expounding upon it?
