How many things have been tested and claimed safe by industry backed science to later be found unsafe? The list is very long.

Important to note, it's not like things have been called safe to later be found to be mildly unsafe, we've gone from 'safe' to extremely dangerous with so many things.

Studies that aren't backed by big industry have shown adverse effects in animals, and we've seen a spike in chronic illness and disease as humans.

Not to mention the multitude of external issues that go against basic common sense.

The very first research study linked by the "global research" link you posted says specifically in the 1 paragraph abstract that the levels of toxins being studied in the women were from herbicides, added chemical herbicides, not related to GMO's in any way other than GMO's can be sprayed with them. The study also concludes there is no evidence of a health risk, despite the presence of these compounds in the blood stream. The study itself says, in the abstract, it is the first study of any kind to even try to measure glphyosate in women's blood streams.

How you take that to mean "GMO's Are Killing People!" is ridiculous.

Ah, most of my internet time is spent at OpenCulture and my most watched youtube channel is Renegade Economics (which is lectures and interviews with economists).

And I read books, a lot.

Without being disrespectful to the daily habits of most on this board, I'd bet I feed my senses with better things than most.

Tested as extensively as GMOs and aspartame in the modern era of science? None that I can think of.

What you mean is poorly designed or outright fabricated studies run through the filter of fringe beliefs have shown adverse effects. Meanwhile, in the real world, actual scientists enjoy reading the types of sites you link and laughing together about them over lunch.

It's painfully obvious that all those times he spoke of "educating himself" he was simply memorizing talking points from websites owned and operated by the kind of people who stand on streetcorners and yell at people.

But feeding your senses with what?

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the fact that you disagree with just about every scientific consensus discussed here is an indictment of your sources and not just that everyone else is ignorant or out to hide the truth?

The truth is there hasn't been extensive testing for GMO's effect on humans.

The fact is there is more evidence of adverse effects.

If you want to believe what industry backed science tells you, the same people that have claimed things are safe to later tell us they're extremely harmful then more power to you.

FYI, DDT isn't harmful to people. It was shitty for condors.

DDT saved millions of lives and ended the malaria epidemic in Africa and Asia.

Not really.

They haven't been studied extensively in humans.

Animal testing has shown adverse effects.

Is DDT the only thing that was claimed safe that later was found to be harmful? No, so not sure what your point is.

This is telling. Things that are harmful for the environment are harmful to people, this kind of disconnect between humans and the planet is troubling.

This is bumper sticker worthy.

I appreciate the humor, but the truth is tests show all kinds of adverse effects on animals, and not just rats.

Know what else harms people? Mosquitos carrying malaria. If you like condors more than peoples, that kind of disconnect is a little troubling as well.

And animal testing doesn't translate directly to human effect.
