On that list, I've been to Papillion (Pappio) and Louisville, Co.

I suppose both are fine places to live if one has the means and doesn't mind the commute.

Obviously everyone that is from MS is fat, ugly, and dumb and moving here would make one like everyone else.

On a serious note, it's all objective. I've met people from NYC and D.C who were visiting family or moved down here to MS and they absolutely loved it here.

Bro, Mississippi is by far the worst state in the country, you will never win this argument.

False.

Whatever metrics you want to use won't give you the result you just said, in that Mississippi isn't "by far" much worse than many other states which have issues with poverty, poor health, etc.

For example, Mississippi's obesity rate is 34.6; Alabama's is 33. So Mississippi s 1.6 percentage points "worse" than the state it immediately borders in this regard, a difference which is essentially negligible.

Or take Median Household Income. The average household in Arkansas earns $38,758 a year; the average household in Mississippi earns $36,919. That's a difference of just 4.8% or, in real dollar terms, just over $35 more a week in earned income.

So the whole "OMG MISSISSIPPI IS TEH WURST!!11" stuff you always see is nothing more than a lazy way to ignore the problems you have, problems which clearly render you very insecure.

Also, all of the towns on this list are just wealthy suburbs. Trust me, I've lived in a few of them; they're not the best places to live, for everyone. This is true especially if you (like me) don't have kids.

If I had kids, sure, I'd move to the 'burbs for the safety and schools, let alone the big backyards. For now, however, I'd rather live within walking distance to bars, restaurants, supermarkets, public transportation, and all that shite.

You just gave two examples of Mississippi being worse than a border state. Thanks for helping make my point.

Just because it's 4.8% worse doesn't change the fact that's it's still worse.

You said "by far the worst," did you not? My point is that Mississippi isn't the worst "by far" at all. The differences between Mississippi and the other states in similar situations are marginal.

Think of it this way, if you finish 49th out of 50 in a race, and only beat the guy in 50th place by a second, it's not like you too aren't slow as shite. Yeah, you're "faster" than one guy, but you're not exactly fast.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: someone from Arkansas pointing out the shortcomings of Mississippi is like a 340 pound man calling a 350 pound man a "fatass." Look in the fricking mirror, bro.

Jackson and Little Rock should be and have more similar characteristics to be "Sister cities" than any two I can think of.
N. Little Rock = West Jackson

Both Mississippi and Arkansas are shitty states. Arguing about which is shittier is stupid.

Yeah, but there are far more shitty places in Mississippi than most states.

Oh come the frick on, as if that's even objectively quantifiable.

Look, I've lived outside of Mississippi for eleven years. I don't live there now. I've lived in four states and one federal district. I've visited over 30 states and been to nearly a dozen foreign countries. Every place I've been has redeeming qualities. Furthermore, every place I've been has been largely populated with people who are perfectly happy with where they live for whatever personal reasons they have.

My whole point is that the logic of this whole thread and your whole argument is simplistic and borne out of prejudice. You're going to find whatever redeeming qualities you will in a place. Don't get so up in arms when other people do the same.

I'm not getting up in arms. I couldn't care less about the state of Mississippi. I would never, in a million years live there, but if you're happy in that state then good for you.

Mississippi is no different than any state that borders it, and the same could be said for most places.. There's been many a thead where you reconfirm your distaste for MS. Just shows how fricking dumb you are IMO.

Feel free to provide a comparison showing everyone how much better Kinfricky is than MS..

Or Georgia..

Lived there too.. Same shite.

Awwww, your arse hurt is showing. If you were to talk shite about Virginia, Georgia, or Kentucky I wouldn't give two fricks.

I'm not from Kentucky. Or Georgia for that matter. I think that Georgia could be considered superior to Mississippi of those two.

Georgia is better but you act like MS is a modern day django movie..

I'm not butthurt, it just gets old. Plus, your distaste for MS obviously waxes/wanes around MSU beating KY yearly.. That is true. You hate the shite out of us as a State during mid-football season.

You've been patterned, woman..

Maybe if you haven't been to Little Rock in 20 years.

Jackson is more comparable to Pine Bluff at this point.

I spend at least 3 weeks a yr in and all around Little Rock. Riverfront is decent, but culinary wise Jackson is way out front.. They just eerily remind me of each other in every other way. From the Airport, Capitol area, downtown and white flight development are extremely similar..
