Jason Isbell and assorted members of Drive-by-Truckers play fairly regularly. Still a bit perturbed they claim Athens since they are from Muscle Shoals.

Given the choice between the two, I don't blame them for claiming Athens Then again, Allman Brothers are originally out of Jacksonville, FL and claim Macon. Some places just wind up feeling more like home than the places we came form.

While some real magic has happened in the past at both Chester's Place (rip) and George's, the Fayetteville venues are pretty weak in comparison.

Best show I've seen in an SEC town was Phish in a parking lot in Oxford in 1994. It was Ole Miss homecoming and Fishman came out and was proclaimed homecoming queen during the show while wearing his Mumu. It was pretty awesome.
