IMO

Johnny Ozark > Golden chick > Popeyes > Bush's > >>>>> Chicken Express.

Only Johnny ozark I know of is in Kilgore, TX... so may not technically qualify as a chain.

Of the above, the only one I've ever heard of is Popeyes.

Going by the chicken alone? Or including the whole meal with fixins and tea?

If you have to go to Kilgore to get it, it's not worth it. That's one of the worst places on the planet.

Damn good. But the Nola gas station chicken is better. If you ever hit bourbon St, cross canal and hit up brothers.

Only national chains I can think of are Church's, Popeyes, KFC. Golden Chick and Bush's Chicken are small Texas chains, so you can't count them.

Having said that, out of the big 3 it's Popeyes but you have to get lucky. Sometimes you get some very fresh chicken, but for the most part I find myself eating greasy chicken due to franchises using old oil to cook.

Popeye's is the best at everything but customer service. They have the best tenders, chicken, seafood, and sides. They even have the best grilled chicken. They basically can do no wrong as far as their food is concerned.
