Good job.

But gay post.

Advice:

I'd skip the biceps, but you probably like all things with the word bi in them.

Pull-ups, back-work ect should give the biceps all the work they need.

With curls you're just adding useless mass that will turn flabby and fat when you stop working out as often, whenever that may be.

Big biceps are very 90s. Most girls don't even like them. Strong arms are one thing, big swollen biceps=huge lift on pickup truck. It's not opinion, it's truth.

Eating right and taking in the right amount of protein is the hardest part, IMO. Admittedly, I'm that guy, and I don't do legs as much as chest, shoulders, arms and back. I also lack the ab exercises I need.

I'm also pretty pissed that prohormones were taken off the shelf due to the new law. Mass Plexx was incredible.

I heard if you wear white shades into any GNC, they let you in a secret back room with all the XXXMASS protein pro hormones anyone could ever want.

I took a year off because I tore my right pec doing decline bench press, you can kinda see the indention on my right pec in the pictures above from where I tore it.

Hawgfaninc, couple quick questions about the pec tear:

1) How long did it take you to regain your full strength or do you feel like you will have a strength deficit on the right side?
2) Have you adjusted the way you lift due to the injury?

The reason I ask is I had a complete tear of my left pec last June that required surgery to repair.

That's a really nice green skirt you have on. When do the hormone shots begin Bruce?

Good job! I appreciate that you posted your diet and workout plan.

My wife had a new baby about a year ago and I stopped working out. I was in really good shape, almost as good as your "after" pic but a little less mass. Very defined.

A year later and I'm a little doughey, but I know how quickly I can recover my fitness.

I posted this on the OT To show the Crossfit dorks what people can accomplish thru safe workouts and disciplined diet?

Well I'm still not back to full strength in it. When I'm doing any kind of chest exercise, I can tell a noticeable strength difference between my left and right side. The doctor told me to not do any upper body exercises for I believe 3 months after the initial tear. After those 3 months I still couldn't do anything with my right side and my left side was so much stronger. So that's about when I decided to just take a year off, let it heal some more, and hit it hard when I started again. All the chest exercises I do use both chests doing the same amount of weight for both. Even though I feel my left side could be doing a lot more weight, I'm more worried about building my right side back up. Back in October it was just a hole where muscle had been on my right side. The hole is still there, but it's not as prominent as it had been. I can tell it's stronger and slowly starting to fill back in.

The only adjustment I've made is doing less weight than I could. I do whatever weight my right side can handle. I don't want my left side to be too much stronger than my right, with the plan of eventually making them equal again. There's no pain when I lift only loss of strength. I have to catch myself getting out of proper form on bench when compensating for that missing strength. When I catch myself compensating, I back off on weight to get back to proper form.

tbh This is all what I've figured out for myself with just my current knowledge without any outside reading. I might get around to researching if there's a better way. But for now what I'm doing is working.

damn I hate to hear that. How'd it happen? thankfully mine was only minor and didn't require surgery.

My tear was the primary reason I quit wanting to bulk up. I might still bulk up in the future, but I doubt it. I enjoy running too much. From my reading and talking to other people after the tear I should've warmed up more and I should've been working the stabilizer muscles more. Doing those two things probably would've prevented the tear.

My diet has changed slightly over time, but it's essentially the same. just high lean protein, brown rice, raw vegetables, fruit, and peanut butter. basically just eating healthy. a lifestyle not a diet ftw

Great job on getting back in shape. I had a several month layoff and am just now back at it... and the eating part is now just as important (and seemingly harder) than the exercising part since I'm on the backside of my 30's. Amazing how big of a difference eating right makes.
