I agree, putting a dog down after the fact is one thing (though I don't think this warranted such measures) but this is just bizarre.

I'll stay away from absolutes in this case but I will say 90-95% of serious dog bites (this obviously wasn't one) come from dogs that are no longer fit for human companionship. Take that FWIW.
