They're saying spring break will make it worse due to increase traffic of people traveling through.
Which makes no sense to me. If you are going into the Carolinas from Florida or Alabama, or driving from the Carolinas to Florida or Alabama, you hit 285 well several miles before you get to the closed portion. Take that.

I know 285 can be a clusterfrick in its own right, but spring break travelers do not have to go through the heart of the city.

Crazy thing is, it actually made my ATL > Auburn commute easier once I actually got on the interstate.

Now Moreland Ave., on the other hand, was an absolute nightmare. Praise Jesus it's only twice a week

75 south bound traffic, people are funneling over from 400 and using 285 more

Most east coast people take 95 down to florida, 75 gets everyone from the midwest

Anytime you close a section of a major route and then add more drivers to the system, you will get worse traffic.

Looks like they'll have to replace not only the Northbound lanes of 85 that collapsed, but the adjacent Southbound lanes as well.

Do people in Atlanta still look down their nose at MARTA? I lived in Atlanta in the late 90's and took MARTA all the time, even the buses. People looked at me like I was crazy. Blew my mind people had that attitude. I'd kill to have that in Birmingham.

I'll take the trains with zero fricks to give. The only time that I've ever had to get on a MARTA bus was the Braves shuttle though. Never had a need for the buses.

Rather take MARTA from North Springs then deal with traffic in Buckhead or downtown

Reports says no one injured. Hmm

So it wasn't an attack, just 3 bums living under the bridge who lit a crqckpipe and set the fuel filled fiber optics cables ablaze.

And don't look for it to ease up anytime sooner than 6 months.

Boulevard, Edgewood, Moreland, BriarCliffe, Scott, Claremont, Piedmont, Peachtree, Monroe, Cheasier Bridge, Stn Mtn Parkway, Lenox, Brookhaven, 400, 285, 75, 20, Covington Hwy, Gresham Rd, Memorial, Ponce De Leon, Northside Drive, Roswell Rd etc etc etc are going to be overburdened and in need of drastic repair once all this is completed.
