5. South Park

Thats my top 5 that I have personally watched.

I happen to agree, but it's hard to defend that assertion given it only lasted 3 seasons on network TV. The rare show where every character is brilliantly written and acted.

2.5 Men is the greatest comedy ever. Or it was as long as Charlie Sheen was part of it.

To me the greatest comedy is the one that makes me laugh the most,

Check out Danger 5 (trailer preview) on Netflix then. It is an Australian TV show, but is damn funny and random. The seasons aren't long and there are only 2, but it is almost no stop laughing action.

I wouldn't go that far but saying "all time" matches it against a bunch of old shows that were great in their heyday. Off the top of my head in no particular order:

Married With Children
All In the Family
The Carol Burnett Show
Sanford and Son
The Honeymooners (Jackie Gleason)
I Love Lucy
The Three Stooges
Cheers
Seinfeld
Friends
Saturday Night Live (back in the day of John Belushi)
M*A*S*H

Given your criteria I think AD is top 10 but not top 5. IMDB agrees:

Curb Your Enthusiasm at 13 should be a GD crime!
The gay Nazi kid episode may be the greatest comedy episode in history.

AD is my favorite sitcom OAT.

I reference it all the time and my wife doesn't get it.

Seinfeld used to be the tGOAT for me but curb overtook that. Might have something to do with the fact that I've seen all the episodes of Seinfeld multiple times over and that curb has a more recent feel
To it but I'm pretttttty, pretttttu, pretty, pretty confident in saying curb is better than Seinfeld

In the mix somewhere:

Honeymooners
Beverly Hillbillies
WKRP in Cincinnatti
Sanford and Son
All in the Family
Frasier

If The Three Stooges could be included into the category, it has to be included in the discussion.

It's timeless humor bc it's rooted in everyday things that every one of us has been through or dealt with. People will still be laughing at seinfeld reruns 30 years from now.

Eh, I honestly don't think so.

I mean, Seinfeld is VERY dated already. So many of the plot points hinged on the ignorance of the characters or characters barely missing each other. We fill that void in our lives with a smartphone today.

Seriously an iPhone would undo half the show. All those plot points of them barely missing each other, or waiting for something? iPhone fixes it. Plot points where someone (a lot of the time George) doesn't have a key piece of info? In 2016 Siri would tell it to him. Plot points about them not getting somewhere or needing a car (or finding a car)? An iPhone plus Uber fixes that (or just Google Now telling them where their car is parked). Hell the most famous episode ever- the Soup Nazi- would all be about giving him a shitty yelp review in 2016.

My point being that there is NO way that kids of today who are basically born with a smartphone in their hand can relate, let alone kids born in the future. Seinfeld is like The Honeymooners, very locked in its times right down to the music. Which is fine, it was the most brilliant comedy ever in its time.

They put HIMYM over AD

As they should, HIMYM is one of the best shows of all time, and was so much more than a comedy, which can't be said about some of these other shows.

The fact that the Daily show is still on there, even though Trevor Noah sucks donkey balls is almost enough to disqualify this whole list.
