Before I had a kid, my thought on this matter was "maybe".
Then I had a kid, and for the first year, my mind changed to "hell no".
Then that kid started showing attitude, stubbornness, and defiance. My thought currently is "knock yourself out"

My stepchild used to be the princess -- she's been taken down a few notches. I just have to raise my voice and I get the desired effect. The plan is to never let them be in control, even when they're cute.

Mine was all boys as well. I'm told that earlier generations got to settle disputes with boxing gloves under the supervision of a coach. And even the institutionalized hazing we got in the early 90's has been pretty much wiped out.
I would imagine the clean up chores and light exercise could work for girls too, but I'm sure it would be different in a coed setting. Coach can't get away with cussing out princesses at the top of his lungs.

Our coaches used to beat us like fricking pinatas. Can't recall a single swat that I didn't have coming. Also, lots of pussies up in this thread.

My parents had no problem with it. I don't now, but as you said, I don't have a kid so I don't know how I'd handle it then.

Working with some of the teachers I've worked with in the past, I'm going to have to say no.

I would be cool with it. Whether the kids were guilty of the crime or not, I'm sure they got away with something at some point and deserve a spanking.

When I was growing up (no not giving a specific) I would be called into the Principals office and they'd always first call my parents. If the ok was was given.... "justice was served." Heck it saved my parent's time so they were ok with it.

I do the disciplining of my kids in regards to paddling. No other adult will receive my permission to provide it.

My dad made a paddle for the principal of my school

I am "blessed" with a little one who does not show any kind of consistency towards punishments. Raising my voice will sometimes get the desired effect, sometimes not. Spanking is a last resort, but I won't lie, that child sometimes has no problem pushing me to that point.
Love my kid to death, but the little bugger is going to be out of this house at 18. College, job, or peace corps. One way or another.

If y'all aren't gonna let the principal or a teacher discipline your kids, what about a relative (uncle, grandparent, etc)? My grandmother would pull a switch and beat that arse for you quick!

I don't know about all the kids you are running into, but feel free to come and meet mine anytime. You will see respectful and well mannered kids.
You know why? Because me and my wife do the disciplining of our children. They have knowledge that there will be consequences for poor choices.
Feel free to allow school officials and teachers to beat down your child.
Family is a whole different ball game bruh. I expect them to correct my child should they need it, but I am also trusting they love my kids.

Or they just do it themselves instead of depending on a relative or teacher.
