Anyone else see ESPN's new abortion of a website?

It's horrible!!! No, it's worse than horrible.

Commenters on the story announcing the change all seem to think it's a really bad April Fool's joke.

Sadly, it appears they're serious...

Nope nobody's seen. Nobody here ever checks ESPN.

And it's pretty good actually

I actually like it better. It's easier to read and find stuff. The minimal look suits it.

Kill it with fire or send a virus to their website

I agree its awful. I logged in the other day and refreshed a couple of times and then finally saw a statement saying welcome to the new update. I messed around with it for a bit then left the site. Its pretty god awful and makes me not want to use it.

I've been checking scores on CBS sports since the update because the scoreboard sucks now

Why are so many notable websites going to that awful flat look. It looks like a bad newspaper site, and there are thousands of those. ESPN's site was distinctive. Now it's just bland.

I'm not crazy about it either. I prefer Grantland's setup.

Uniformity across platforms.

Makes perfect sense, actually.

The flat look and mobile phone interoperability is html5 at work. iPhones/iPads had a lot of trouble with flash and Java and it's just the code of the future.

A lot of web-based software I sell started doing it last year and it all has that flat look.

The worst site update I've ever seen. makes navigating the site much more difficult. Went all Mac when they should have stuck with Windows

It's not terrible-but I hate ESPN because of the damn video ads-and the entire front page is 50% video ads.

I don't like it. But I'll get used to it and eventually learn to like it.
