Here's lunch for today, masaman curry with beef, russet potatoes, and white onions

The only thing that sucks about masaman compared to the other curries is you have to let it simmer on low heat for at least 45 mins or so to let the meat and taters get tender. It's delicious though. And yes I know my fiancé is a poor for having the coil stove at her rental house.

Have you tried Nori behind the Colennade? It's another Thai place that has similar offerings to Surin. It's just cheaper.

I have not. Thanks for the rec, will check it out next week.

About a year ago i started cooking a lot of thai dishes. Red curry with shrimp is my favorite but green is also good.

Love all the curries. With green I prefer chicken poured over kanom jeen(fermented rice noodle) and topped with sprouts, pickled greens and thai basil.

I normally do masaman in the crockpot. It's easier and good.

There's a great Thai place near by that hasn't essentially replaced Chinese take out for me.

The green curry is great, LOVE the Massaman curry, and they make a pretty good chicken and rice soup too for the cold days.

Get laughed at if you don't get Thai hot 4

Green curry chicken is the bomb. I love it at the local thai place near us.

Green Curry is my favorite.

I will not eat red or yellow.
