I'm very interested in the claims some researchers make about its impact on dopamine sensitivity, etc. It seems to affect brain function the same way some other addictions do. I don't have a moral or relationship reason to do it, other than the desire to be all I can be.

Porn has the same effect on brain dopamine pathways that alcohol does, and in the same way you can build up a tolerance to alcohol porn can literally desensitize you to sex. The rates of performance anxiety and erectile dysfunction among regular porn users is much higher than in the general population.

Going on about 10 months. Porn is a terrible thing. Especially for a marriage. I've heard people talk about what it did to their lives and marriages. Thankfully I stopped all that before I got married.

Sounds like some of those people need a little more self-control.

Porn can just as well enhance a relationship if you know when to turn it off.

ETA: Like a lot of things in life, moderation is key.

I've heard the same thing. I believe it. I'm convinced that it is extremely harmful to people in many ways.

I'm sure my girlfriend wishes that.

It's not a good idea.

A little cocaine can enhance my productivity. Still not a good idea.

Yeah.

Keep in mind that it's a process to cut that out of your life, at least it was for me. If you go over 30 but under 90 consider it a win, just don't go back to making it a routine habit.

I drastically cut it back about 3 years ago, slowly it has become something that is nonexistent.

It doesn't even cross my mind anymore, and if it does (by way of this something like this thread) I realize it's not even appealing to me anymore either.

Going long stretches with NoFap does amazing things for so many things. Everything is better.

Thanks for the report.

I know what you mean by it kind of fades in appeal. I went about 10 days a couple of weeks ago. It was really difficult. Now I'm nearly a week in and I feel like its breezing by. If something impacts dopamine, then its similar to using tobacco in that it becomes a brain reward loop.

I'll keep everyone updated. The 10 day stretch I actually had two different dreams. Not about women, but about fapping.
