I don't know. My buddy from old Jefferson said the water is coming down Barringer right now. It was something like 7 or 8 houses down. When i was talking to my mom I could hear the helicopters over head.

Someone on the OT said the stuff north of Old Jefferson on Antioch was in big trouble.

I have a feeling a water is likely going to be getting in my parents house.

I just saw on Facebook one of my old friends from high school had to be rescued by boat with her infant baby. She was in the Amite flood plain.

You think people here walk around all day, saying "climate change is a bunch of bullshite"? No, they probably don't think about it that much, and they probably don't do much to contribute to it either.

You know what, frick you, you horrific, liberal count. Go frick yourself.

My mom and sister were leaving as the water was lapping up the driveway.

Water has reached my buddies parents house which is probably 10 or so houses down from the canal. The front of the water has passed the sidewalk at my parents house. It could be in the back already though

Sorry. The comments were before the flooding got serious. I don't think anyone could have predicted that the storm would still be centered over BR.

It's awful what's happening to that area. I hope the emergency management agencies were prepared and are saving lives.

We just moved into the back side of Old Jefferson. Claycut Bayou runs right behind me.

I've evac'd.

damn that sucks.

My friend text me that water hit the sidewalk at my moms house. He didn't see the back yard though so it might have water coming from the canal on that side.

Evac to Georgia brother

ETA: Sorry - I-12 closed at Pumpkin Center.

You can no longer get to Baton Rouge via I-12 or I-10.

Ive seen Point Chanier take on water before, along with Cocadri. The worst flooding I remember was flood waters going over the side walk way back in the 90s.

You can't even get from Baton Rouge to Denham right now.

I'm assuming I-10 westbound is good all the way to Lafayette, but where do you go from there? Parts of south Lafayette are being evacuated.

If 19 and 61 going north are under, I don't even know how to get out of Baton Rouge if I had to.

Over the sidewalk when we got out. It's gotta be approaching my porch by now, which is a few feet off the road. I'll share some pics with you on Facebook later.

Hopefully it stops rising before it gets inside your place.
