Two 500-year storms since Spring? WTF is going on with the weather down there in New Orleans?

Seriously, my sincere sympathies to anyone involved in this extraordinary mess.

It's just Nature making up for the dearth of hurricanes lately.

Everything is solid green and lush here. Usually dries up around this time of year. My lawn guy is always busy.

Must be a lot of deniers in lower LA.

Lush is the word for the Bluegrass, too. The weeds are taking over my garden. Just can't keep up with them. It's never been like this before.

In and around B.R. it's a fricking shite show... massive flooding all over the place has begun... Will crest some time Sunday at record levels... the water has no where to drain... lots of road closures... people being evacuated... areas flooding that have never flooded before... and supposedly it'll only get worse... truly historic in these parts

Pretty nasty. A couple smaller rivers are due to go higher than they've been in 30 years.

I watched a video this afternoon of a tractor-trailer getting washed off a road. Apparently a truck and a firetruck tried to help but were both washed off. They never found the small truck.

I've watched that system over lower LA for several days and it just seems parked there, dumping incredible amounts of rain on the area. I've never seen anything like that.

Surely people are being evacuated. This could be an epic flood.

That's a great tool for use in disasters.

I have to fly thru that garbage daily. The climate on the gulf coast is closer to vietnam that it is to the rest of America

Incredible. The pics of the flooding show the tragedy that's happening there. So sad.

It does seem that way. I wish that one of our weather gurus would tell us how that circulating storm could remain over lower LA for so long. I can't get anything from Google.

New Orleans isn't nearly as bad as BR. My neighbor closed on a house Monday and it now has 4" of water, not in a "flood zone." It's been raining here for 48 hours straight.

I know, and it's a pounding downpour. Something like that here in the Upper South would be cataclysmic already. I hope it ends soon for y'all.
