We don't have the geography, education level, or demographics of Europe though. We match closer to Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, etc. why do we get compared to white countries? Bunch of racists up in here. We aren't a homogenous Dutch society, we're a heterogenous melting pot. This is the result of that, good and bad.

You might as well compare us to Japan.

Exactly. Thankfully any politician that preaches gun control gets shite on pretty quickly by both sides. Bernie said he wants more gun control and a lot of people that were going to vote for him got extremely pissed.

If there's one thing I do love about this nation as a whole, it's how hardheaded we are about the constitution. Other countries say "Hey America! You need to change this!" and we say "No. frick off" most of the time.

What Texas (stereotypically) is to America, America is (stereotypically) to the world, basically

We all have a little of that cavalier pioneer/cowboy's devil-may-care attitude about us

99% of Americans don't know what the frick is in the constitution. They just rabble about guns and gay marriage.

Guns are in the Constitution. Gay marriage is not.

Agreed also, but probably for different reasons than some.

Im willing to bet staunch gun owners and supporters know a great deal more than those who dont and try to blame them for these evil acts.

Guns are in The Constitution. Therefore we are hardheaded about it.

Sure, guns are the easy scapegoat here, but the real issue is the cultual dysfunction this country has that is fairly unique compared to other advanced countries. Between the WOD, racial tensions, lax immigration standards, and lowered mental health care standards, America is unique.

Exactly. Guns are a crutch for people that don't want to try solving real problems. According to the UNODC, the United States ranks 111th in homicide rate. Many of the 110 countries ahead of us have gun ban, yet murder rates are still high.

Don't care.. Still want my guns. Mexico gun laws would have to become much stricter imo for there to be much of a statical difference

Now is the time for mourning and for healing. But let’s be clear: At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency."

It happens in other countries, but not at the frequency in America.

I'm going to the gun range tomorrow. I plan to do some shopping this week-end. Might even go to a movie. I want to be prepared.
