Ancient Aliens claim:

in 1861, just before the Battle of Wilson's Creek in Springfield MO, Union General Nathaniel Lyon informed his men that he would die during the battle. How could he possible know that? Because aliens of course...

Lyon became the first Union general to be killed in the war; he was shot in the heart on Bloody Hill at about 9:30 a.m. while leading the 2nd Kansas Infantry in a countercharge.

quote:

The Battle of Wilson's Creek, also known as the Battle of Oak Hills, was the first major battle of the Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War. Fought on August 10, 1861, near Springfield, Missouri, between Union forces and the Missouri State Guard, it is sometimes called the "Bull Run of the West."

I believe everything he says. He's as believable as the local or national news. He's as believable as anything that comes from the Congress or our President. He's as believable as the Bible.

Yes, I believe him.

He makes me think: the history channel was one of the reasons I used to want a la carte tv. Now it still is, but the other way around.

Wilson's Creek isn't really in SGF. But that explains why the attitudes are in that city

I live about 3 miles from the battlefield and my neighborhood is on the very edge of the city limits. What should I say to people who aren't familiar with the area: Wilson's Creek Battlefield - located 2 to 3 miles just outside Springfield, MO city limits between Battlefield, MO and Republic, MO?

Come on dude...
