Oh, you considered all this a debate?

"#delusion"

Yeah pal, let's keep calling it a debate.

No, it wasn't a debate. It was a psychotic poster coming into a thread getting mad at other posters talking about what the OP was talking about.

You're acting like I didn't call you a troll in that exact phrase. It's starting to make sense why you think d&d are good writers.

We're reaching 4chan levels of Assburgers. We should dedicate a thread to just shitposting or let it go.

Actually, I don't have to do any of that to still be entertained

There are literally verifiable plot holes in not just the entire Eighth Season, but especially in Episode six. Plot holes are a sign of bad writing.

You have to suspend the part of your mind that believes in tangible writing in order to enjoy it is the entire purpose of the statement. It's not a debate, it literally is.

"You guys are ridiculous." - Tbird, totally not being condescending.

I forgive you though.

Also, you've said the same thing three times in a row, we understood that part -- that if you don't like something you wouldn't watch it. If it's a sneaky slight at how much I disliked the season, I've already explained in kind: My enjoyment of a show comes from having studied literature for quite some time and being an English teacher.

I hated the writing. The acting, sound, cinematography and the story (beforehand) were all amazing. Many parts were enjoyable.

You have to, though, ignore things like Ser Davos telling a roving band of warrior Eunuchs (not Varys spymaster types of Eunuchs) that they should create their own House! Again, it's a fact. It's not up for discussion whether or not that's horrifically bad writing and it's not our job to fill those gaps with story explanations. (I.e., oh, well, maybe Ser Davos didn't know they were eunuchs.)

You've made this joke what, six times in one thread?

We get it, you're intimidated by my intellect. Get over it and move on.

No, I just have to watch it and decide if I'm enjoying it or not. It really is that simple.

The constant carping about a TV show is pretty ridiculous, but I'll grant the point that that was condescending

I forgive you though.

Thanks fam

It's not. I don't really care how much you liked or disliked it. I can't control that. Nor am I interested in changing your mind about how you should or should not have enjoyed it more or less. You liked what you liked, and disliked what you disliked. All good in my book

Then why were we "ridiculous" in our dislike?

What's the point of the conversation?

Similarly:

If that isn't superficial I don't know what is.

There is no point. We're all just babbling about a TV show that's over with

It's TV. No need to take it too seriously tbh.

What do people usually do when they find something to be egregiously outside of what their expectations were? Especially when they paid money for the product, and HBO relies on people to you know, keep the lights on. How else should we voice our displeasure?

If the majority (over 50%) of people find it dissatisfying, are you sure carping about it is less ridiculous than caping for it?

"It's just sports, no need to take it too seriously."

"It's just politics, no need to take it too seriously."

"It's just x hobby, no need to take it too seriously."

That's white noise.

Go talk to HBO or something if you're looking to be even slightly more productive. They sure as shite aren't reading SEC OT threads

All true statements.

Not sure what you want me to say, man. You disliked it, I didn't. Show's over and our minds are made up. The end.

Is discussing something that you enjoy/dislike really such an alien concept to you, or are you simply playing the contrarian? Like I'm not sure if the three of you are actually aware of what forums are, where the word comes from and what the point is.

I agree with your last statement on "moving on", which is why it's so weird that you thought it necessary to call us ridiculous and wonder why you get called an Avengers style watcher (then proceed to say "I like what I like"). You brought the conversation to me, not the other way around.

I have no qualms on moving on and have told other people to just ignore those who want to talk about the deeply flawed (37% on rotten tomatoes) 8th season.

I'd say that's what you have been doing itt

I've just said I enjoyed it, and that bothers you for some weird reason. I'm not even trying to troll you or anything. If you truly hated it, that's fine by me. I'm not trying to change your mind or tell you you're wrong. Yeah the excessive bellyaching is a little silly in my book but you do you at the end of the day

quote:

it's so weird that you thought it necessary to call us ridiculous

Jesus, it was a one off comment in direct reference to the aforementioned bellyaching

quote:

wonder why you get called an Avengers style watcher

I didn't wonder anything. Nor do I care about how you perceive my enjoyment of different films. That's silly. I like the Avengers. I liked GoT. I probably like lots of stuff that you like and lots of stuff you dislike. No skin off my nose either way

quote:

You brought the conversation to me, not the other way around.

And you're the one worked up into a lather over it, not me. I'm chilling

The ridiculous comment doesn't really bother me, the retreating back to the warm cloak of "I'm just chilling here/not getting into a lather about others' opinions" is why I keep bringing it up.

You can't do both. Pick one.
