Just no excuse for this ... officer should be fired.

No, wait. Was the officer black or white?

quote:

“I think it was because he looked brown,” Sherrod said, adding that the two police officers involved were white. Only one of the two policemen was responsible for the injuries, he added.

Nevermind ... circle the fricking wagons. If they are going to play the race card, just circle the fricking wagons. frick'em.

al jazeera america trying to stir the shite.

frick'em.

When is al jazeera america going to run the stories about the Christians being murdered in the middle fricking east.

Circle the wagons - fight this shite. It's fishy. There is another side to this story that has not been told. These cops are not just going to body slam that mumbling indian for no reason.

Not too far from where I live, heard about it and they said the fella was creeping near or in people's yards and snooping around, not like that's illegal or anything but everyone know's everyone and he wasn't known so I would've called the cops as well. But MPD went overboard

Not condoning the officers but they should report both sides if the are going to report any of it....one report said that Patel was not cooperating, fumbling around, pulling away...hard to believe the cops would just slam his face into the concrete for not just knowing English.

Sureshbhai Patel, a permanent resident of the U.S

And maybe we should at least make people attempt to learn some English before giving out PR?

Even if he was, definitely not worthy of paralyzing him.

I'm honestly surprised at the number of Bama residents making excuses for the cops.

Because their main goal was to injure the guy and cause paralysis. If you fall the wrong way you can easily injure yourself pretty badly.

And I'm not surprised by someone blaming everything on the cops without knowing much about the story.

Someone saying "I didn't mean to kill him by shooting at him!" is equally as stupid. Yes, you were just trying to stop him, but don't act surprised when it turns out the guy is dead.

The worst thing anyone is saying this guy could have done was not be recognized by the local residents and put his hands in his pockets. Do you think it's a coincidence that only Bama posters are posting things like well this is what happens when you don't know English?

his son and his lawyer said that...and of course they would take up for him whether that is true or not. And the official police report gives greater details than just 'going into his pocket' like I said. I don't think their intent was to hurt the guy but was the force excessive, probably so.

I'm not taking anyone's side, all I'm saying is you shouldn't assume anything when you have 0 information outside of an Indian news tabloid who may or may not have any facts because they have gotten their story from the victim's son (who wasn't at the scene, or better yet not even at home)

I'm a Bama poster and if I had to guess, I'd say the Madison cops did abuse their power and this should not have happened (lived there for 18 years.. not surprised). I'll wait to see the video though.

Imagine if the grandfather was white. These two officers would probably put their arm around him and walk him to his son's residence to insure his safety, or the neighbors would never have called the cops in the first place. It's a damn shame how impatient people can be...
