You want to know what really turns the heads of politicians? Revenue and being elected. The moral outrage of someone smoking pot is dying out over time, and the appeal of a lot of tax revenue is going to win out in the end.
I give it one decade. Two tops, because this is the Bible Belt we're talking about.

Even if they legalize it, doesn't mean the university won't have a drug policy.
Just because Colorado has legalized , doesn't mean their players are allowed to play high or not face suspensions when they fail a drug test.

I don't get why you're ROFLING at a fact. Are you really in support of a wasteful, detrimental prohibition that doesn't work at all?

The amount of money taxpayers are forced to spend on the persecution of a harmless drug and the imprisonment of people who are hurting nobody by smoking said harmless drug is absolutely amazing.
And then people wonder why we are facing a prison overcrowding issue.

What's with the laughing? Don't you read?

Oregon, Alaska, and California WILL be legal states in 2016. This thing isn't going backwards. Get your state in on it early and you might have a billion dollar cash crop on your hands.
Or just laugh at all these silly "potheads" while you crack open your 8th beer.

True. It's up to the individual universities to enforce substance use policies as they see fit. But at least you won't have kids going to jail or clogging up our court system with simple weed possession.

I know plenty of people investing in fledgling companies in Colorado who are some of the first selling the product legally.
It's already paying off tremendously and I bet they haven't even scratched the surface of what they'll be able to make.

No, they don't.It's that DAMN simple. THINK about it.
Yep. The government calls it a class1 drug like shooting heroin in yourself. So that should tell you how bad the drug is.
Just take a shot glass or two of Jägermeister and contemplate how dangerous class 1 drugs like heroin are and any fool would leave that pot alone.
The withdrawal symptoms alone should let you know how addictive it is. Let alone all the marijuana OD's each year that kill untold numbers of unsuspecting young people.
It's very simple to see.

Also, pharmaceutical heroin is schedule II. That's your tax dollars at work right there.

Queue the devil's cabbage or druggie comments. I've seen plenty of them this weekend.

Yep that's why it should be legal, it's natural.

If it's legalized on a federal level, though, there's no reason the university would have a drug policy, any more than they have an alcohol one for players of legal age. Players aren't allowed to play drunk, but they're certainly allowed to drink on their own time.

It's eventually going to be legal, it's inevitable at this point. All the old frickers will die off and it will change.

The free market will take care of that as soon as a 5* doesn't commit to Georgia because he doesn't want to be subjected to ridiculous 30 day urine screens for a legal substance.

11 million dollars of tax revenue for Colorado in first 6 months from just recreational sales

Drug policy and screening is required by the NCAA. They just allow individual Universities to monitor it and set discipline. But you still are not allowed to play if you use drugs legal or not. There are steroids that are legal for rehabilitation , but you can't play if they are in your system.
The NCAA is an independent body and can mandate that MJ is illegal.
