Shiner also has this (new?) birthday beer that tastes like chocolate cake. Not really what I'm looking for in a beer.

It sucks compared to the rest of the rest of their offerings....But it's a summer beer, and better than other fruity type beers from other brands. Give me a bohemian black lager or the gold standard anyday, though. If you really want the champion in terms of a flavored beer.....Wild Blue wins hands down.....not a shiner beer of course.

It's really not that overpowering. A smooth, malty stout.

Kinda reminds me of Abita Turbodog, but better.

I disagree. I found the chocolate taste overpowering. Different strokes, different folks though.

Abita Turbodog,

I like chocolate, oatmeal, and coffee stouts, but Abita did wrong with Turbodog.

Cat have you even eaten a prickly pear? It's not a pear like you think

Not saying you would like it, because Shiner prickly pear is a little too fruity for me.

I like my stouts, porters, IPA's, IPL's, Double IPA's, lagers, and bocks. If I want a ligher beer I usually go with a heffy. Pilsner's taste like soap water to me.

I just don't like Shiner in general. Or fruity beer.

I like stouts, imperial stouts, porters, IPA's, Double IPA's, lambics, tripels, quads, strong ales, barley wines, black ales, etc.

I'm from Texas and it's my favorite Shiner by far. Very unique taste.
