Not really, I just keep to myself and work hard because I actually interested in the curriculum. I'm older than the average student so being friends with them is not a top priority. Most of the time I am willing to help other students if they meet me half way.

But yeah, I can be a douche at times. Who hasn't.

If you are a business student you should sell those tests to other students. This will be the most applicable lesson you will learn in college on being successful in the business world.

Yes. And it did me so much good that I joined the Army and now I'm gonna head to nursing school.

Seriously, though, have an end-game. I didn't. I just love to read and write so I majored in English Lit. I taught for a year and hated it. I went to law school for a year and hated.

Options - exhausted.

Already have two business degrees, a third useless degree, and three minors. Going back to school to try a new line of work. Sucks getting laid off after 8 years of steady land work.

I can too I guess. I took some wintersession class when I first got to Ole Miss. I was studying so hard for these daily quizzes and taking notes in class while everybody else was just sleeping and taking these quizzes, which were 15 mc questions, within 30 seconds. I was just about failing and everybody else had 100s. I wasn't too interested in making friends at the time but one of the girls would always come drink at our house. Asked her two times and she lied saying she was just studying. Finally got somebody to send it to me the night before the final. I'm still pissed at that girl but I did learn I needed to make a few friends in class.

If I were you and really wanted to learn the info then I'd just study normally and then take the test before the exam and learn the answers. Still learn the answers and ace the tests

The market is saturated with lawyers.

This is the kicker though, the curriculum is easy as hell. If you have common sense and a pulse, you can pass the class with an A.

For those of you wondering, it process technology at two year community college. I figure only taking two semesters to finish the degree and the experience I have in land work, I would get a job fairly easy with all of the expansion projects that are coming down the pipeline.

Having been through a year of law school I'd say go to medical school.

My wife, having completed medical school, would tell you to be a dentist.

Really, though, law school is cake. I really just didn't want to be a lawyer. I took the LSAT to see how I did, did well, and then applied to a few schools to see if I'd get in. I did and figured "why not?"

An extra 12k in student loans for nothing that's why not.

I'm not an office guy, though - plain and simple. If it's for you, it's for you. The subjects in law school were fascinating to me. I looooved property law for some reason.

That's interesting.

I think I would love office work. Everyone tells me that I would be the perfect lawyer.

The only thing about medical school, is I've heard the some doctors work 14 hour shifts and stuff. Not sure how I would like that.

I don't think I could be a dentist. I can't handle that.

Dentistry may not be sexy but I'd be interested in it. That or orthodontics.

I'd imagine that it would be tough for the first part of a person's career - paying off the student debt, establishing a practice, buying all the equipment and whatnot - but after you get set up it's got to be a gold mine.

One thing I've always heard is that "people will always have teeth, and need dentists."

Property law is not a bad thing. In my experience doing land work, it seems like the lawyers we hired to review our abstracts hardly work and billed an insane amount to the oil companies (since they have deep pockets). The title opinions that I read over the years seems that being involved in property law is a good career and interesting. But there is a lot risk if you make a mistake and a landowner sues the oil company.

14 hours is a good day during residency. My wife works a 24 hour shift every 5th day that is actually around 28 hours.

After residency it really all depends on what field you go into. She's planning on rheumatology so she'll have easy arse clinic hours.

As a lawyer you'll have long arse days at the office and you'll have to bring your work home. In either profession there's a strong chance of working long hours. Just make sure you're doing something you enjoy and it won't matter.

Also, be prepared to start out at a pauper's salary in either field.
