He's right. Nobody likes the flamers who throw glitter in your face.

I know a gay feller who you would never know is gay and he's one of the coolest guys I know. He's a welder and drives an F-350. Unless he tells you he's gay the only clues you would have is if you noticed his manicure or the tiny gay pride sticker on his F-350.
His boyfriend is black and he told me he gets way more shite for being in an interracial relationship than for being gay.

Anyone who thinks discrimination against gays doesn't exist has their head in the sand. But, I agree with this guy. It's like anything else. The more someone gets in your face with something they don't like/agree with/approve of, the more of a backlash you'll get.

I think gay pride parades useless anyway. Why do you need a parade anyway these days? Maybe in years past, when coming out of the closet could be dangerous for people, it was a way to identify with others and express themselves. But if they could just be happy and secure with themselves, and live their lives the way they want to - that'll get acceptance a lot quicker than dancing down the street with glitter.

Take out the glitter and this is the exact same thing people said about Dr. King.

Gay pride parades should be banned. They trigger me.

I don't know/ I see a huge difference between people marching peacefully, arm in arm, singing hymns, and dancing down the sheet dressed in drag or flamboyant outfits, with dildo balloons. Totally different vibes.

They absolutely have the right to do it, I just don't think it helps.

Good for him. His circumstances and story don't change whether or not other homosexuals were discriminated against. My best friend came out as gay at 15 and was disowned by his crackhead mother and kicked out.
