well, the article in question came from:

ask yourself who would argue the "East must be down", there are only two programs out of the East that would even begin to go there, one is FL the other ...

IF, written by a coach, it is not a SEC coach. No SEC coach s going to criticize Mizzou for losing to Auburn and Bama, most SEC schools also lost to those teams.

IF it came from a coach, I believe it was a Notre Dame Asst. in response to GP saying they should join a conference to be playoff eligible.

The restore order crack doesn't sound like a coach, it sounds like a homer fan. I can't believe any head coach would make comments like that, even under anonymity. Maybe Suprrier? Just doesn't sound like a head coach.

these are "coaches" not head coaches.

reason I posted the link above, the quotes are ALL from SEC teams coachs, about the East..

edit: doesn't say they are all East coaches, just SEC.

The only reason I would suspect a USCjr coach is because they included USCjr in the category of UF and UGA. USCjr is a bottom tier East team with Kentucky and Vandy most years outside of Spurrier.

Exactly. If it was a head coach, it was probably Spurrier. Otherwise, likely some low-level ladder climbing jock-sniffer from USC or Tennessee.

The issue is, talent doesn't win football games.

I would disagree. Again, look at our 2013 roster and tell me who had more talent?

Only one offensive starter on that team was either not drafted (or will be) or at least signed a rookie FA deal. Several backups in the same boat.

Our entire two deep on the defensive line was or will be drafted except for Hoch. We were loaded.

14 not as much, but again it wasn't some great discrepancy.

I realize that. My point was that it likely didn't come from a head coach. I think there is too much respect between the guys in that club to diss each other that way. They all know how hard the job is, and how hard it is to win a division race.

This likely came from someone low-level. Sorry my comment wasn't more clear.

I wonder how ol' Bert liked the reality of a 21-14 Mizzou win?

Some of you might not like this, but I do wanna see us beat a winning blue-blood type team soon. When we did beat Georgia they were playing with 3rd and 4th string players and we had to hold on, because they came back in that game and we scored a couple times after to hold on. I basically agree with everything said about us.

The 2 championship games we played in we were destroyed and no we couldn't stop Auburn's offense and we had no chance of winning that game. Our offense tried to keep us in that game, but our defense said "no way"
