I'd love to see a Tommy Saunders or TJ Moe type emerge - I miss the sure-handed receivers we used to have.

If Chris Black can do that in the slot...

That's a Chase Daniel level sophomore year.

While Chase is on the Mount Rushmore of Mizzou athletes (something he deserves), IMO Drew is better at this stage than Chase & has a higher overall ceiling. The question is will Drew have some badass weapons like Chase.

Chase was ridiculously good at making reads though. Like, crazy good.

Getting the running game to emerge will help lock and the receivers a ton.

It's sort of one dimensional at this point.

Chase had the greatest skill group we may ever see as Mizzou fans. Chase isn't Chase without Will Franklin, Jeremy Maclin, Danario Alexander, Tommy Saunders, Chase Coffman, and Martin Rucker. He would tell you the same.

For sure. No argument from me there. Chase definitely had an arsenal of weapons. I was insinuating that's where Lock needs to get better. If he learns to read a defense like Chase, look the frick out....

Lock probably has more physical tools than any QB we have had in recent memory at Mizzou. He is better mentally than Blaine was. Better size and arm than CD or BS. He will need to continue to grow with his eyes and hopefully the team around him grows as well. He has all the physical tools to be a top 10 pick and I hope he can get there. I expect 3500 yards and 25 touchdowns from him this season but maybe high interceptions as well. 13-17 would be my guess.

Just keep him protected. He seems to have survived last year's beating without suffering Battered QB Syndrome. Heupel needs to keep it that way.

Yea I have definitely been wrong about expectations for Lock this year. Some of that is because I thought the run game would be much better.
