I'm hoping the influx of a real RB and WR help him out. Obviously, it all hinges on the OL, and it sounds like they have an edge to them. Hopefully last year was an outlier as I suspect the GP regime probably knew it was over soon.

I'll be happy with some ball control thanks to the RBs, one or two good targets in Black and Moore, and very few turnovers.

I think we make hay this year with that gameplan, and do real work in 2017.

I just want to see Lock get comfortable, let the game come to him, resulting in good decisions.

He can light it up next year. THIS is the year of seasoning that matters.

I expect 3,000 yds and 25/10 Touchdown/Interception ratio...

That gets us 7+ wins, anything less than that and we don't see a bowl... I am also accounting for a top 20 defense with this assessment

That gets us to ATL if the defense is as advertised.

I'd ease back a bit.

I'm looking at 200-250 YPG against conference foes and 300+ against non-con which is absolutely logical to me. Those numbers still won't necessarily beat top tier teams, but will show vast improvement.

I see more picks.

25-10 would be great for a true sophomore.

That's a Chase Daniel level sophomore year.

Ya 25-10 + 3000 is a lot to ask of a true sophomore. 3000 is 250 a game in a 12 game season.

James Franklin in 2013 had 2429 yards in 10 games. Which is essentially the same pace.

I think Lock has more raw talent than Franklin, but Franklin was a veteran playing with fantastic receivers, 3 very good RBs, and 4 of his 5 OLs are now in the NFL.

Some may argue that Franklin would have had better numbers had Mauk not been getting a series or two a game, but Zanders likely will be getting some playing time as well.

Id be looking at 2600 yards 18 TDs and 11 Ints

Those numbers don't jump out at you but would put this team in good shape to win a lot of games with a good defense and a solid running game as well as set him up for a solid 2017.

Agreed. That coupled with 1200-1800 yards rushing should get it done.

IF the defense is as advertised.

What I think will really help Lock is having a true QB coach. Heupel has experience and good results.

That will be the biggest difference. They've both talked about not being able to read defenses, understand protection. Talent is a big deal and he can make the throws, but the nuance of the position is more important. Having the feel for where the soft spot in the zone will be. Knowing where to move in the pocket with pressure.

Having a legitimate stable of backs will be a big help. Still plenty of questions at OL and WR though. Answer those reasonably and I think he'll be MUCH better.

We need some stud receivers. If Hill can coach up the guys we have? And the OL can stay healthy? Lock will be better.

I feel better about this every week... Have yourself a game this weekend young man. A W this weekend and we see a major shift in our program on so many levels.

I am super excited and pumped to see our team play this week.

If he can put up good numbers again against a legit talented SEC defense like GA, then color me impressed. He couldn't do it last year at all.

I think my favorite thing about the offense this year is they get up to the line and go instead of faking a quick play and checking with the sideline for 15 seconds.

I think the real question is, what can we expect from our receivers this year. IMO Lock has looked good so far this year. We can't have receivers dropping 6-8 very catchable balls each game and expect him to produce. In the 4th quarter of the EMU game there was a drive where the receivers/backs dropped 4 very catchable balls in one series.

The receivers aren't where we want them to be yet, for sure. But they've shown improvement. We do have 4 receivers with 100+ yard games, so there's that.

We were all hoping to see any sign of improvement from the O this year...... After two games, like most here, I love what I see.

Kudo's to Heupel and Ellarbee.

The first big test comes this weekend ofcourse.
