I'd have passed him.

Then brake checked HIS arse.

Then I'd have pulled into the car wash and got my tire iron out, then as soon as he pulled in behind me. BAM! I'd have jacked that truck right in the bumper with my tire iron,

Then I'd look at that dude all crazy and shake the tire iron at him, as if to say, "Watch it bud!"

Then I'd go to Casey's and get some fried chicken and eat that shite real angry like in front of my kids.

You know what I mean? Angry fried chicken eating sends a message to everyone.

No didnt hit my truck, had to hit the brakes doing 70 to miss his crappy mustang.
The guy slammed his brakes in front of me when he got around me.
Then i pulled over and so did he, then the fight broke out with me punching him in his cocksucker.

Bogie, I don't know what you do in the ICT, but I know you're elected and want to stay elected. Would you mind answering some questions about that whole situation for me?

If you'd prefer not to, I completely understand.

Welp, I'm here in a bigger city. I'd like to participate, but our local party office has taken a pretty hardline stance that I'm not super supportive of. I haven't become a real attractive candidate until my business has become real (even though it's not open.) I live in the county, but my business is in the city.

My real question is...How can I "impose change/impose my will" upon my city council without living in the city.

I'm pretty sure I'm a solid appointment to many county advisory boards concerning zoning, rural areas, etc.

What's the best way to me to help the local area be what I want it to be for as long as I can without having to represent people?

ETA: I'm assuming you're not a school board rep or something. Even if you are, I value your opinions.

We are always seeking citizens to serve on boards, committees, etc. You sound like an ideal candidate. (Even if you are outside the city, but in the same county, and especially if you own a business.) We also appoint people within our area of influence.

Write a letter to the Mayor expressing your interest to get involved in the community planning. Share your background and any particular interest, such as planning and zoning.

Good Luck!

We're pretty mobbed/corporated up here in my city. I'll definitely write letters though.

Thanks.

If you don't want to actually serve, you can still attend any public meeting. There should be an open forum that accepts comments from the floor. Or you can request to be placed on the agenda to speak your mind.

Although you must live in the city limits to vote on city issues, a business within the city would be listened to. Also you may want to consider speaking to the Chamber of Commerce, or joining that organization.

No, I think I actually would like to serve.

I've been offered a couple of appointments previously that I turned down based on what I do (I rent my home in the county,) but the new hard line political thing (this is Nevada, btw) has kind of tried to push me out. My business is the most permanent thing I have.

I'm not a prototypical party member, which kind of sucks here.

Go read my last post, I added a paragraph.

Nice thing here is that our City Council election is non partisan. My community is a suburb of Wichita. Only a little over 12,000 residents.
