I'll say one thing.

When discussing missteps by his players, Moore, McCann, etc. He says "I've got to get better".

No, those guys have to be held accountable wiBO. That's how they get better.

I'm guessing this is probably just coach speak, but saying McCann needs to get better at kicking extra points isn't throwing him under the bus, it's stating the obvious. The coach can't make him do it better, just teach and instill confidence. Dude still has to go out there and make the kick or catch the easy pass.

Beyond that, I think he's headed in the right direction.

'Probably' coach speak? You know the answer to that. Yeah, it's a little frustrating to hear that when it's obvious McCann shite the bed too many times, but it's not the NFL. I don't mind the approach.

He's been exactly this way all year. I've got to get better. We've got a great group in there. They're a tight knit group. I've got to do a better job of coaching them. This is what he said all year.

He takes coach speak and adds on an incredible amount of personal responsibility for himself, more than he needs to, and he does it in a really authentic way. I like it.

Young coach speak would be a better way to say it, he'll figure that stuff out eventually.

I like the fact that he's not afraid to discuss obvious stuff and doesn't get defensive. He'll be a good coach.

Hope it's sooner rather than later though.

I got the answer for the drops. Stand the guys in front of a jugs machine spitting those balls out at 100 mph at their face. They'll learn to catch with their hands real fast.

Yep.

Just get them to the point where they aren't thinking, just doing what's ingrained in the body.

The natural reflex condition is something that takes time.

I think another offseason in this offensive scheme with Lock will reap dividends come next season. The natural reflex will be there for these receivers.

There are definitely some serious weapons in the WR corps, especially if the run continues it's current course in the offense.

Do you think if there is another season like this year that Lock goes into the draft? He certainly wasn't consistent. Certainly made some mistakes. But he also made some throws you just don't see everyone making and put up solid numbers despite the frustrations.

I think there are folks salivating over his flick of the wrist release.

Beyond that he requires some work, I expect a night and day difference next year, and if that's the case he's gone.

The NFL is like a uninformed Black Friday shopper buying a TV when it comes to QBs. They will stare at it until it looks so good that they have to have it in their house.

He'd be an awesome senior to have, but if next year is better offensively, he'll go.

I don't think it's young coach speak, I think it's a conscious way that he wants to be.

He's like the commander guy in Band of Brothers -- when he reprimanded the Office Space guy for playing cards with the guys he said "what if you had won? You can't take money from these men".

He's thinking ahead of things on that level. He had years to think about the brand of coach he wanted to be and he's playing that out.

He's not going to blame anyone in the foxhole beside himself. He knows this keeps the unit together. He's a hero archetype. He gets off on having the weight of the world on him. He wants the responsibility.

Anyway.. don't think it's a young coach speak. Think it's who he is and who he's gonna be.

I like that analogy.

It's amazing to me as a non-football guy (fan only, never played) and a pretty casual watcher of anything that isn't Mizzou that I (and I'm sure many others) scratch their heads at qb drafting decisions.

I know this sounds, whatever, but Dak seemed like the real deal. Thick and athletic body. Good touch on passes. He competed authentically and not like a diva. I don't get how that guy wasn't more highly thought of. And then you have teams trading the world to get people with obvious red flags.

If Lock has a good year he's going to be told he's a first round pick -- but there's a bunch of factors that make it possible he'll stay. Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

Interesting analysis, but I still think he's green and it shows in the singularity I brought up.

It won't work in the long run, he's giving them a performance cop out.

McCann lost his job multiple times this year and only regained it because the other people were even worse.

I don't think Odom branding himself as the guy who takes all the heat will give performance cop out syndrome. The boys know whats up. They know what he's doing and why he's doing it and it should only make them respect him. They aren't getting coddled when real coaching is happening.

Oh, I don't think he's a coddler, I think he's a grit guy.

GP was a grit guy when he started too, he would bristle with Gervino asking him questions on his own damn show back in the day.

He learned to loosen up a bit.

BO will do the same, he puts himself in front of a lot of stuff, and that's ok. Once McCann gets it together he'll know BO will have his back when he hits 40 in a row and misses one to tie in the 4th.

I get that, I just don't want him to put too much of the burden on himself to fix. I mean, at some point these guys will just do what they do, or they won't.

He checks all the boxes for me, I just pointed out something that he transmits constantly that I don't care for, doesn't mean he's a shitty coach.

Good interview. I like Odom as a HC. Sure he had a tough first season in the SEC but most HCs do unless they either inherit a loaded team or have a magical horseshoe up your butt type season.

It will take some time but I think Missouri was showing some signs of putting it together down the stretch of last season. You knocked off Vanderbilt and Arkansas, two teams that are bowl bound, towards the end of the year.

The Vols probably missed their window of opportunity. Georgia is nothing special though they are loading up on talent. Florida is unimpressive.

I don't see why Missouri can't make a run at the SEC East title next year. Hell, Kentucky was in the race for a good long while.

Ky, Vandy, Fl, GA, Mizzou, and possible TN could all make a run at the east next year.

Mizzou can't if we don't have a reliable kicker. It amazes me that apparently Mizzou hasn't placed much attention on the importance of a good kicker.

A crappy kicker will singlehandedly lose games. There were at least a few games this year that if high percentage field goals would've been made our record may be drastically different.

The same will apply for next year.

Shitty kicker will equate to at least two or three losses.

Dude was kicking 60 yarders in HS.

He's got the leg, gotta fix the head.
