CAN'T BE FORGIVEN OR FORGOT SORRY BOGIE They have done too many things to frick up all of our lives and once I lost my health insurance with them about 4 months ago haven't spoken to them since. They still try to call me every fricking week I have like 20 missed calls from them, and they still haven't got the fricking message. The only impact they've had on my life is given me the drive to never be like them and be the best I can be at everything because I don't want to end up like them, but even that I'm doing for myself. Anyways how about the my 9.5 toes story

I know I don't know what your family life was like, and I get that you are angry and hurt. For your own well being, don't waste any energy dwelling on the past.
Unfortunately, poor parental examples are often copied by the offspring. just make sure you be the man, husband, father that you would have liked living in your house, as you were growing up.

So my trip to the emergency room:

When I was only 10 years old I had a sleepover at my next door friends house. This was one of the worst experiences of my life ever. So when you're only 10 and you have a sleep over parents are present but this time it ended up being an older sibling who was in college. She was responsible for looking after 4 kids which is quite the challenge. Everything that night for her ended up going smoothly but the next morning shite hit the fan...

The next morning after we woke up we were messing around in my friends room playing on bunk beds. My friend was on top and I was on bottom pushing up on the mattress lifting him up and it was an old style bunk bed with metal slats and wood planks. While I was lifting him up really high I went to let the mattress down and it dropped too fast and I crawled out from under the bed and saw my toe was bleeding and went to ask for a bandage and it turns out my friends dad ironically was a doctor. He looked at my toe and saw that the metal slats had completely sliced half of my toe clean off exposing part of the bone. Only when I stubbed it in the ground did immense pain begin. He frantically instructed my friends older daughter to find my toe in the bunk bed and get it on ice and I'm starting to get upset by the pain and he carries me over to my parents house in his arms and end up spending two days in the hospital and another 4 weeks recovering from this simple toe chop. I had to wear a specially designed shoe so that this wouldn't affect my balance in the future. Luckily it was my pinkie toe and not my big toe. I didn't really like the follow up visit too much because they ended up pulling the excess skin over the top of my toe and securing it with a copper wire. A few weeks later they had to yank this wire out

yuk...painful, but lucky it was only pinky toe. Funny how those appendages help with balance. Have you seen movie, "My Left Foot?" Starred Daniel Day Lewis in true story about life of Christy Brown. Phenomenal story of one man persevering in a life of extreme adversity.

My two daughters are both involved in dance. So the Lifetime reality series "Dance Mom" is unfortunately standard fare in our TV fare. And dance competitions are a way of life in spring.

The two collided in St. Louis last year when the Dance Moms filmed at the competition my oldest attended. Another dance dad and I had a 10 minute conversation with Abby Lee, the overbearing taskmaster who runs the studio. She was polite, funny and fun to talk with. Unsurprisingly, the TV show is all a manufactured production.

And more importantly, Dance Mom Kelly and I bumped into each other in the halls of Union Station. Our eyes met, we had a moment. I'm sure of it. She said,"Sorry." I said, "No problem." But our eyes said so much more.

I watch that "Dance Moms" sporadically; what a hoot! Abbie must have some experience from her slimmer years, the kides are talented, but those moms are psycho!

The story behind the shotgun at Silky's. I lived in Memphis for a couple of years. One weekend me and 3 friends were drinking at some bar down on Beale Street. The testosterone was flowing so we were either going to get laid or get in a fight. Ended up being the latter. One of my friends started getting into it with some guy at the bar and decided to take it outside. My friend went into an alley across the way and the other guy stood in the street mouthing off. I approached the guy and basically said either go over there or shut the frick up. As I'm saying this, the guys girlfriend comes up to him begging him not to go. With that he backhands her across the face. As most men, I absolutely detest guys that hit women and I reflexively hit the guy upside his head. The next thing we knew, the entire bar emptied on us. Little did we know he was there with 50 of his friends and fancied themselves some kind of wannabe gang from the suburbs. I came out of it with a broken thumb and a buddy had to get a few stitches above the eye. (As an aside Killz, here's the racist part...the cops came in when he was getting stitched and immediately asked if it was a bunch of black guys that jumped us, which it wasn't, and left, no more questions asked).

Fast forward a couple of weeks and we're at Silky's with maybe a couple dozen guys and girls when what do we see but the first guy from the bar on Beale Street there with just one friend. He quickly recognized us and realized he was outnumbered and ran out the back door and jumped in his truck. As me and my buddies emptied into the parking lot, he pulled out his shotgun and fired off a round. I don't think it was really at anyone, but it was enough to scare the shite out of me and send me diving for cover.

Unfortunately, way back when I told the old man about it and he saw fit to tell the kids. Some stories are just best left untold when it comes to the kids.

re: Tiger Tales: True Confessions, Brushes With Fame & Infamous Tiger Escapades! (Posted on 10/24/12 at 11:51 a.m. to Bogie00) My old man went to Mizzou to play basketball. He's a big dude and when he got there, Dan Devine saw him moving on the court and talked him into getting on the football field. He never played a day in his life and took one hit and quit. P***y!!!

This old man ratted you out to the kids? He is P***y!

Yeah he seems to live on telling them the bad stories and then watch me trying to down play it and explain it away to them. That's ok though. His day is coming when he needs someone to wipe his arse for him.

So true..... But if we're lucky, we live to a ripe old age, keeping our wits and being able to manage our own daily needs and pleasures. Then we use express check-out!

Didn't want to start a whole new thread for this so thought I'd put it here and sorry if I keep talking about my son too much. He's 12 and like most boys, loves sports. Growing up he watched Sportscenter instead of cartoons. I learned to hate Sportscenter because it's a constant loop of the same show over and over and over and he wouldn't let me change the station. He learned his math by us asking him what Pujols plus Kobe plus Chase Daniel is. The point simply is that he probably knows about players and teams than I do.

So we're watching the halftime show of the Indiana/NC basketball game and they're showing various highlights when all of a sudden he shouts out in amazement "Dad!!! Nebraska?!?!?! Nebraska has a basketball team!?!?!?" God I love that kid.

The strangest thing is that they haven't been so hot in football lately.

The BIG 8 was cool! Everybody hated Nebraska and OU!
