So Mauk is suspended

I actually feel terrible for Maty, his father is really battling cancer, he's getting booed and now he is suspended. I'm excited to see Lock but please let's take it easy on Mauk

I feel bad for the kid, but at the same time I actually have some excitement for the rest of the season. He hasbt played good football and HE got himself suspended. Those are things he could control.

Like I said in the other thread, word is this might result in Mauk not returning. I have to feel for this young man, going through the situation with his dad. I wish it would have been for other reasons other than team disciplinary actions where they may cut him lose. Sad.

On the other hand, they mention that if this comes to be and Mauk is gone, they mention that Mizzou will be pushing hard for a QB for 2016. This is why I said way back that they needed to go get Skylar Thompson. He's verbally committed to KSU right now, and hopefully he'd switch. Kid is just as talented as Lock. He's more of a Mauk or Franklin style QB being he's a true dual threat QB.

Although I'm excited about Lock as the better QB, I wouldn't be shocked to find out Mauk may be having a tough time because of his dad and everyone piling on him for his performance. Maybe he got drunk and was late to a team meeting. I certainly could understand something like that. Maybe he just mouthed off to a coach. Who knows?

He's got a serious weight on his shoulders with his dad and I don't blame him. Godspeed Maty.

That said, I can't wait to see Lock's first start in person Saturday.

My post wasn't directed at anyone I was just reminding the whole fanbase of what Maty's going through but you guys know it and understand.

Pinkel was unusually testy and terse on his weekly interview on 920 today. Maybe this explains why.

seems likely its a random test result failure along w/ Cueler, well at least Mauk did get some good news this week, his dads surgery went well.

If it had come out the other way around he would truly be in a dark place, but then we still need a QB ready to play and he could use some time out one way or the other.
