Not a white faculty member. Lol at people believing this shite. If a white faculty member called another faculty member this, they'd be drawn and quartered. And I mean that quite literally.

She wasn't specific about race, but specifically said faculty members - as in more than 1. I made the assumption they were probably white. Her Facebook post was moving, because she wasn't complaining about it - she was pretty factual and said she chose to be positive instead of dwell on it. She also mentioned being yelled at by a guy in a truck when she was out jogging. It really wasn't a negative post.

I'm tired of trying to explain my point of view around here, so I'm not going to get into it any more.

For the record, I don't agree with everything that has gone down, but I see now what been hiding behind the curtains and it's ugly. I suspected as much, but it's way worse than I had previously thought.

I don't have a problem with your opinion. I respect them. I'm black....paid tuition at Mizzou. Kept getting letters in the damn mail about past due notices, needing to make pmt arrangements or be sent to collections. So I under stand the "regular" black students being pissed about racism on campus when you pay tuition, university hounds you for pmts but you deal with racism.

But i noticed the guy complaining the most have shirts with black pride on them, etc. He's asking to be a target of racism. It's not right but you know some racist person will say shite to piss him off.

I just feel athletes shouldn't get involved. I want my nephew to play ball there. Don't want sports and social issues being mixed. The way these people make it out to be as if Mizzou is the worst place to go to school, you can't learn because the racism is so bad on campus, racism is so thick in the air. Are the students complaining from mostly black areas like STL, KCMO?? They should spend time in southern Missouri with Neo Nazi Groups and KKK members. See the adopt the HWY signs, see the racist symbols in restrooms. I have a feeling things at Mizzou aren't any worse than things at LSU, Ole Miss, KU, Nebraska, OU, etc.

Sad thing about this is that the football players got involved, put this shite in the media.

The sad thing is that the football players are being recognized as football players first and human beings second. That's sad.

You honestly believe that a white faculty member could call a black coworker the N word and there would be no consequences?

You live in a different world than I do. Most white people walk on egg shells these days not to offend or even hint at offending a minority.

People have gotten fired from their jobs for making racial comments on twitter, not even at work.

It can happen. You think it can't?

If you walk on eggshells to not get in trouble, then your mindset is all wrong. If you're affraid that you may say something offensive.

Twitter? Exactly, keep thinking about it. You're halfway to your own answer about comment number one.

OK you lost me with this (it's early so it may not be too hard to do ):

How so? I'm white & I could careless what shirt you or anyone else is wearing even if it is racist. But then again I'm a big boy and the whole "sticks & stones" thing works wonders for me.

What pisses me off the most is lack of due process. Instead of going after the people that were accused of TWO racists acts they go after someone that couldn't defend himself & say HE'S THE PROBLEM!! Did Wolfe act too slowly? It certainly appears that way but once the agenda was set there was no way he could give the "right" answers or come up with the "right" programs or even the "right" timeline......remember the agenda had been set......don't believe me? Look at the list of demands. Wanting him to admit his "white privilege" shows what the true purpose was all about.

I do because they do have a powerful voice, I just don't think this was the right situation to pull the "strike" card. There isn't systematic racism at Mizzou no matter how many people say it but there's an agenda.

From this day forward the only way anything will get fixed is if a football team or BB team goes on strike.....you simply cannot go smaller. All of the vets on here will understand this: follow your chain of command. If a problem arises you don't go to the commander; you go to your supervisor and work your way up. The same way with a problem or issue....start at the bottom and work your way up.
