Running the ball there doesn't do much for McCann and you are assuming that the true Fr kicker knifes a 30+ yarder to ice it. UGA had 6 on 5 in the box and were man up on the outside with safety shading the field side. Wingo and Blanton had the UGA's 4th and 5th best cover options on them. Wingo abused his man.

Lock missed the read.

Did you watch the game? Did you think they did a good job protecting the ball? Whatever they're doing in that area isn't working

Because people made turnovers doesn't mean they're not emphasizing ball security.

That's just absurd.

Meh. It rarely falls all on one group or another. There is plenty of kudos to go to both the players and staff and if looking for reasons why we lost to UGA there's plenty of reasons on both the players and staff yet again. I suspect even Odom would tell you there are areas where the staff deserves some criticism. I have no problem with that as long as they all grow and learn from it.

Of course Odom would tell you that. And of course it's true.

It's just.. the way people are complaining about the staff.

Like you saying 'yet again' just now.

To me the way people are saying what they're saying doesn't reflect that they're really getting it.

Remembering now why posting was a bad habit.

Forget what I'm saying. Yeah, the staff let us down in this one once again.

I don't disagree that he missed the read, but that's only more justification to keep the ball out of the air. He'd been making poor reads the entire second half. You just can't give him the opportunity to turn it over right there. If it was a pass they should have ran a PA bootleg with one read. It's either open or its in the stands.

The play call was just entirely too risky. He should have never been given the opportunity to make a poor read in that situation. You simply can not have anything less than a field goal attempt from that field position in that part of the game. That can't happen.

Everyone gets blame for this loss.

Odom for telling heupel to go conservative.

heupel for playing witter and not mixing it up just a bit.

Cross gets blame for not having at least one safety covering mckenzie over the top among other things like not protecting the middle of the field.

Lock gets blame for 3 INTs.

Moore gets blame for crucial drops and stunning fumbles.

JJ gets blame for fumbles.

The OL gets blame for poor run blocking.

Etc.

But I also heard Pinkel get criticized many times for letting games get away by being to conservative after having a lead.
I liked Pinkel but I personally think Odom is going to be a better coach than Gary.

There was a 3rd down where you had to stop and take a breath before the snap. fail.

It was a game that we lost when we won. That's much better than getting steamrolled. People looking for reasons, plenty of reasons to go around.

If we learn from this and fulfill our potential and wind up losing the east because of this game (IF), then I shall be PISSED.

Does the notsince98 thing still apply?

It's just odd how people are pointing fingers as if this was a normal game.

Imagine if someone found you nearly dead and carried you across the desert and just before you got to the end they collapsed -- and then you stood up and said, hey, wtf, you failed me.

It's just weird.

Under normal circumstances the game could be broken down in such a way that the staff let us down, but they were the reason a let down was possible.

They know where to improve. And the point of sports boards is to talk about it. But it's the inability to balance multiple things at once and come out with a unique take by the fans that bothers me.

Oh well.

OP is an idiot. frick him.

Not a great analogy. If we had played a great game without the mistakes and nearly won at the end we would have been disappointed but excited about the team's direction.

Imagine if someone found you nearly dead and carried you across the desert and just before you got to the end they take a wrong turn and you are both fuked and then you stood up and said, ya know I appreciate it but that wrong turn thing was kind of fuked up. And we were so close. I is so disappoint.

This program should be dead right now.

Totally dead.

Staff went out and got the best OC we could have hoped for.

Signed all of our immediate needs through the JUCO and graduate transfer free agency pool.

Managed to bring in quality talent in the recruiting class.

Schematically out coached the hottest new head coach in the country.

Positioned the team to win.

Sure they weren't perfect, but no game is called perfect. The fact is it was more than perfect enough -- you can't plan for the amount of mistakes the players made.

of course it's not. the fact that you came close and failed is the same, the reason is different as is the emotional reaction.

and how did you go from a enlightened being to this martyrdom crap? Go back.
